This walking tour of Venice was the highlight of my vacation. We walked through the less touristy parts of the city and were led through its quiet, authentic alleyways. I especially liked the area around Campo Santa Margarita, which is bustling with locals going about their daily lives. Our guide, Marco, was very knowledgeable, with a sense of humor that kept us in high spirits during the two-hour walk. He even showed us gelato spots that aren’t on the tourist radar, and I have to say they were much tastier than the ones in St. Mark’s Square! I recommend wearing walking shoes because there’s a lot of walking involved and some steep hills to climb.

The most memorable part of my visit to the Colosseum was experiencing the incredible architecture and learning about its history through the detailed explanations provided during the tour. I was truly impressed by how well the heritage site has been preserved and maintained over the years. Seeing the Colosseum from the second floor gave a completely different perspective and made the experience even more special. Colosseum was breathtaking, but I also really enjoyed Palatine Hill, which was beautiful, scenic, and full of history. Walking through the Roman Forum was equally fascinating, with so many ancient temples and ruins that helped me better understand the rich history of ancient Rome.

I have wanted to see The Colosseum for years, and it did not dissapoint. The scale of the place is astounding, and the engineering, size and the bulding itself is just breathtaking. It was well worth paying to "skip the queue" as it was very busy and I can't stand for long, and with this ticket we were through the airport style security in 5 minutes. Also inside The Colosseum itself there were lots of opportunities and places to sit down and rest. We had an audio guide so we could take our time and not have to move off if we didn't want to - no-one rushed us.

Everything went smoothly, and the audio guide is well designed. One downside, however, is that you have to pick up your tickets/QR codes at the office beforehand and can’t go straight to the entrance. You should plan extra time for this, because entry to the Colosseum is only permitted up to 15 minutes after the time listed on the ticket. So make sure to be at the office by the booked time at the latest!!! It was very tight for us because we went straight to the Colosseum and only then looked for the office, which made it a bit stressful.

Please note that timed priority entry is only available at the Colosseum, but the tickets for the Forum and Palatine will remain valid for an additional 24 hours after the Colosseum entry time selected during booking.

Note that there are 2 entrances: one for the Colosseum, and another for the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill (combined). You may enter each entrance ONLY ONCE and not re-enter.

The security check can take 30 minutes or more. To make the process quicker, please insert any object (including mobile phones) in the bag/backpack or in the tray to be included in the X-ray.
