I took a Danube River cruise in Budapest, and it ended up being one of the highlights of my trip. I’d seen photos of the Hungarian Parliament Building before, but nothing compares to watching it appear from the water glowing gold against the night sky and stretching endlessly along the riverbank. The cruise itself was smooth and relaxing. As we passed under the bridges, each one lit differently, Budapest felt like it was putting on a show. The Parliament was the star of it all massive, perfectly symmetrical, and almost unreal when you see it reflected in the Danube. I must have taken a hundred photos, but honestly, it’s the kind of sight that’s better in person.

The cruise was very interesting but I did not feel there was much staff available for directions. For example, we had booked an audio guide but no one was there to give us directions on what to do to download it. Fortunately there were two Italian guys present, certainly more digitally savvy than us, who helped us download it. In short, perhaps the customer should be more pampered and taken care of. True, the cost was not high but that is not why the customer should be left to his fate. However, it was a nice cruise for what was seen. Budapest is indeed a beautiful city.

I had a wonderful time on the Danube River cruise. The boat was beautifully decorated for the season, with small Christmas stalls on board and a cozy bar where you could enjoy a glass of mulled wine or a warm hot chocolate. The atmosphere felt festive and relaxing at the same time, and watching Budapest’s illuminated landmarks glide by from the water was truly special. Overall, it was a lovely experience — perfect for soaking in the magic of the city during the holidays. Highly recommended! 💛

The view of course is spectacular and well worth the price. Unfortunately, to get the "best " seats while seated you have to arrive very early, actually like on all ferries, the good thing is that there are nice windows from which you can admire while standing. We made it in November with the cold weather, so we were mostly inside, but actually there is also the part above that you can access for a 360-degree view.

It was a nice experience with a beautiful view and it is better to see it at night because you can see all the lights and the bridges when you pass underneath it.
