Visiting the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel was one of the highlights of my trip to Rome. I had seen so many photos before, but nothing compares to seeing it all in person. The museums are full of incredible artwork, beautiful halls, and fascinating history around every corner. The Sistine Chapel was the most unforgettable part of the visit. Looking up at Michelangelo's famous ceiling was an amazing experience. It was quite crowded, but everything was well organized. I definitely recommend buying your tickets in advance, especially the fast-track option, because it saves a lot of time and lets you skip the long entrance lines. It made the whole visit much more enjoyable. I would happily visit again.

The guide that took us through the checkpoint and informed us about the process was amazing and that service was worth the money..! We didn't expect the vastness of the museum and the variety of the dispalying artifacts. It was huge and crowded but not disturbingly..Certainly, there is no time to look at everything and sometimes you need to rush in order for the crowd to keep moving... Few places to rest and freshen up. Mesmerizing the pinacoteca and ofcourse the Sixtine Chapel. It would be nice to be formerly advised about the fact that you need ID for the children as well and that you might need to cover up legs and shoulders for the Chapel.

This company looked after us so well. My husband was on crutches and they personally directed us to the wheelchair area and made sure we were sorted before leaving us to tour the area. They were very attentive. The queues were not super large when we got there at 3.30pm but were huge when we came out so we were very happy to have successfully skipped the wait. Yes, the museum was busy, and the wheelchair route to the Sistine chapel, which is what we largely wanted to see, was a backwards route in, but the attendants throughout the museum were brilliant and helpful. We absolutely loved this tour.

The Vatican Museum collection was much larger than anticipated! I recommend doing this as a single event in one day, with a visit to San Pietro's Basilica another day- it's a LOT of walking! The collection begins with some quite breathtaking religious artworks, some dating back to the 1200's (and the preservation of these is quite incredible) but the collection also has Ancient Egyptian artefacts through to works by Henri Matisse. The tour operator was very friendly and patient with our group, I would use HeadOut for future tours.

It saved us from having to wait over two hours at the museum in the blazing sun at 36 degrees; we didn’t have tickets in advance because it was a spontaneous trip to Rome. The host is located near the skip-the-line entrance to the Vatican museums; the place has a vending machine with food and drinks, restrooms, and fans, so it was very pleasant. We walked for 5 minutes and got in the fast-track lines. Everything was very intuitive, even though we didn’t speak English very well. The staff used gestures that were very helpful in guiding us. The highlight of the tour was seeing the Sistine Chapel. You have to be quiet in there and photography is not allowed; there’s a dress code that’s taken very seriously. You might see people without appropriate attire in the museums, but in the Sistine Chapel they’re very strict. It makes you want to stay there for hours, but there are so many museums, with something for every taste. The corridor leading up to the Sistine Chapel is enormous, filled with artwork on the ceilings and walls. It also seems like the crowd gets bigger the closer you get, as you can see in the photo. Truly wonderful!

Palatine Hill offers one of the best views of the city. Departures are scheduled every 15 minutes throughout most of the day and are guaranteed even in the event of a strike, potentially with a replacement bus service.

One child between the age of 4-12 can travel free of cost with one paying adult.

With canine registration certificates and a proper safe carrier, you can bring your dogs, cats, or other pets free of cost.

Guard dogs are allowed on board free of cost.

There are no limitations on the number of luggage that you can bring along for the journey.

Leonardo Express trains are accessible to travelers with reduced mobility.

Dress Code: Please be dressed appropriately. Sleeveless blouses, miniskirts, shorts, and hats are not permitted. Your head, knees, and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. Comfortable shoes are recommended. We recommend you carry a shawl or a scarf to cover your head.

People with wheelchair disabilities get free entry. The Vatican Museums offer free wheelchair hire from the cloakroom.

The Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (with certified disability exceeding 74%). Additionally, in the case of visitors lacking in self-sufficiency, free entry is extended to their companions.

Certification of disability must be shown before the issue of the entrance tickets either at the Reception or at the Special Permits Desk, located in the entrance hall of the Vatican Museums.

Restrictions

Late arrivals will not be accommodated.

The tour assistants will help you enter the Vatican Museums and services will end with the ticket delivery at the entrance (lobby) of the Museums.

It is not recommended to bring strollers to the Vatican Museums as there are multiple staircases across the museum.

There is a security check at the entrance of the Vatican Museum.

Colosseum, Roman Forum & Palatine Hill

Your tickets are timed so you must enter the Colosseum at the time slot selected at the time of booking.

Guests have a flexible entrance to the Palatine and Forum at any time during their selected activity date. The tickets for the Palatine and Forum will remain valid for an additional 24 hours after the Colosseum entry time is selected during booking.

Child tickets are open-time and their entry depends on the Adult visiting with them.

Note that there are 2 entrances: one for the Colosseum, and another for the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill (combined). You may enter each entrance ONLY ONCE. Re-entry is not permitted with the same ticket.

Please note that entry to the Colosseum is free on the first Sunday of every month.

It is recommended to wear comfortable attire and walking does as there is a fair amount of walking involved.
