The Headout app is comprehensive and easy to use, with access to tours just as described and at competitive prices. At the meeting points, you sometimes have to search around a bit for the representative, mainly because of the sheer size of the venues, but in the end they're fairly easy to spot from a distance and very efficient once you find them. All in all, a great, stress-free experience.

I really enjoyed the experience. There were no problems with the entrance tickets for the Colosseum and the Pantheon; everything went smoothly with no surprises. Plus, with the audio guide, you can visit at your own pace and listen back to the explanations, which are super well designed, clear, and easy for everyone to understand. My partner Rachel, our 10 month old daughter and I had an absolutely amazing time exploring Rome, and booking the Colosseum, Vatican and Pantheon combo through Headout made the whole experience even better! Travelling with a baby can sometimes be challenging, especially when visiting some of the busiest attractions in the world, but Headout made everything feel straightforward and well organised. The booking process was incredibly easy, all the information we needed was clearly explained, and having our tickets arranged in advance took away so much unnecessary stress. Each attraction was absolutely breathtaking in its own way. Walking through the Colosseum, experiencing the incredible beauty of the Vatican and stepping inside the historic Pantheon were unforgettable moments that we will treasure as a family. We could concentrate on enjoying our holiday, taking photographs and making memories with our daughter rather than worrying about organising tickets. My visit to the Colosseum was one of the highlights of my time in Rome. I visited the Colosseum, Mamertine Prison, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, and each place gave me a different perspective on the history of ancient Rome. Walking through the Forum and Palatine Hill was especially fascinating, as I could see the remains of a city that once stood at the center of the Roman world. Mamertine Prison was another particularly memorable stop, with its atmosphere and centuries of history. The crowds around the Colosseum were expected, but they didn’t take away from the experience. Exploring these iconic places at my own pace made the day feel personal, immersive and unforgettable.

Ian was very informative. He had a wonderful sense of humor. We appreciated how thoughtful he was to all the families. He made sure we had bathroom breaks and pointed out water fountains so we could refill our water bottles. He kept us on time and also gave us time to take pictures. Thank you for the awesome tour! It would be even better if the kiosk were somehow recognizable as the place where we were supposed to pick up our tickets. That isn't really clear from the picture either. For a long time, we thought someone would come to the meeting point to give us the tickets. Only then did we finally ask... A Headout logo on the kiosk would be great!!!! Otherwise, everything was okay!

What’s not allowed

Objects such as large bags, sharp items and loose electronics must be placed in the X-ray tray during security screening.

Additional information

If your access includes Mamertine Prison, your visit must begin there and you must arrive at least 1 hour before your Colosseum time slot to collect your entry ticket.

Timed access applies to the Colosseum only; Forum and Palatine Hill can be visited anytime within 24 hours but each entrance may be used only once.

Note that there are 2 entrances: one for the Colosseum, and another for the Roman Forum & Palatine Hill (combined). You may enter each entrance ONLY ONCE and not re-enter.

The security check can take 30 mins or more. To make the process quicker, please insert any object (including mobile phone) in the bag/backpack or in the tray to be included in the X-ray.

Each site has different opening hours, so check in advance. Plan around 2–3 hours for the Colosseum, 1–1.5 hours each for Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, and 30–45 minutes for Mamertine Prison.
