There are so many photos, I only took a few... some for laughs (look at that stone-faced expression :D) and some for their evocative power. As a tourist in my own city, I had so much fun being taken around and hearing about parts of my city that I sometimes knew little about, often nothing at all! The guide was exceptional and passionate, Andrej, from Roman in Romania, who also guides in Rome—it was written in the stars, PERFECT! An excellent experience, I felt protected (there were so many people!) and never alone, and every question or curiosity was satisfied. As for the place, well, what can I say (like asking the innkeeper how the wine is! <3): congratulations on the AI showing the gladiators' entrance, truly very impressive. SEE YOU NEXT TIME!

Visiting the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill was one of the most unforgettable experiences of my trip to Rome. Standing inside the Colosseum, it was impossible not to imagine the roar of the crowd and the dramatic gladiator battles that once took place there. The scale of the structure is overwhelming, and knowing it has stood for nearly 2,000 years makes the experience even more powerful. Walking through the Roman Forum felt like stepping into the heart of ancient Roman life. What looks like ruins at first slowly turns into a vivid picture of temples, political gatherings, and everyday social life as you explore further. Palatine Hill was a perfect contrast — quieter, greener, and offering stunning panoramic views over both the Forum and the Colosseum. Learning that this hill is considered the birthplace of Rome added a special sense of meaning to the visit. Overall, this combined visit is a must-do in Rome. It beautifully connects history, architecture, and atmosphere, leaving you with a deep appreciation for the grandeur of ancient Rome.

Very clear meeting point and found right away. After getting our tickets we went to the entrance and despite the large number of visitors we managed to get in very quickly, within about 5 minutes we were inside. The audio guide app worked perfectly.

Fascinating venue and ticket entry had no issues. Just make sure you read all the details. You still have to queue for security check which is a long queue itself. Any time during the day, the colosseum is overwhelming with the amount of people there, so we didn't stay for too long as it was uncomfortable. No issues with the tickets actually working though.

Unfortunately, there was no audio guide in German, as promised. Instead, there was a guided tour in English of just the Colosseum. Then we explored the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill on our own, with a long line at the Roman Forum.

What to bring

Bring a valid ID or passport to enter the Colosseum. Visitors without it won't be allowed in.

Wear comfortable shoes, as the Colosseum has uneven surfaces.

During hot weather, we recommend bringing a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses for protection.

What's not allowed

Pets are not allowed inside the Colosseum. The only exceptions are E.U defined service dogs.

Accessibility

This experience is not suitable for wheelchair users and people with reduced mobility.
