The tour begins from St Andrew Square, a lovely part of the New Town that's just a stone's throw away from Princes Street. From here, your adventure takes you to 13 different stops in Edingburgh's City Center. The tour lasts 70 minutes and you get access to an audio guide available in multiple languages: English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese and Chinese (Mandarin). Simply hop on and off at your own pace to explore your favorite sites!
First, make your way to Grassmarket in the Old Town. Known for its vibrancy, the area is bursting with some of the best medieval architecture, shopping, and gastropub scenes Edinburgh has to offer. Along the route, you'll come across the statue of Greyfriars Bobby–a Skye Terrier who became something of a legend in 19th-century Edinburgh after spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner.
The next stop at Lawnmarket is next to the Edinburgh Castle, a famous tourist attraction that was once the residence of Scottish monarchs and now serves mostly as a museum. Travel past the National Museum of Scotland, then head back onto the Royal Mile and catch sight of two historic attractions: the Palace of Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament. You'll also chance upon Dynamic Earth, an attraction that tells the story of the planet Earth.
Finally, pass the Burns Monument–the building that commemorates Edinburgh's greatest poet and lyricist, Robert Burns–before going back to Princes Street, to St Andrew Square.
