Beautiful setting with the forest, the autumnal trees and the gardens. It is even a lovely, and close, walk from the railway. I loved the fact that so much, if not all, of the contents of the chateau are original 16th, 17th century pieces, including the floors and ceilings. I loved learning about the history behind Chenonceau, including the information about the Resistance's role during WWII. I also loved that no photos could be taken inside, so no people continually taking selfies! A very relaxing and informative experience. Thank you.

Resetvation ticket worked very well, clear. Nothing to say about the parking lot, accessible and close to the château. the tour of the château was very good, with a numbered tour direction, very practical so as not to forget anything. would recommend it to anyone. very beautiful château.

Tickets were easy to buy and saved a small queue. Parking was easy. The walk to the castle stunning. The castle was well presented inside and out. The paper guide and the exhibition were very helpful and informative. Lunch in the cafe was great and the gift shop was worth a visit. The best part for us on a beautiful day was the parkland and river. The rose garden and the trails especially by the river. As we left we discovered the stable area but the donkeys were missing ( probably sheltered from the heat. Overall a great day out. And I'm sure if we came back we'd discover more. Good value.

Chenencou cadtke as intriguing and lovely as described. It was our favorite castle of all that we visited. We paired it with a visit to Clos Luce. Leonardo was truly a genius. This was a magnificent day.

Just another rich guy's home. Nice architecture and gardens. Good reason for a revolution.
  • Step into one of the Loire Valley’s most iconic castles—Chenonceau. Known as the “Ladies’ Castle,” it spans the Cher River and offers a deep dive into a period of French history that was shaped by powerful women.

    Features

Chapel: A vaulted Gothic chapel with stained-glass windows that survived the French Revolution.

Royal bedrooms: Lavishly decorated rooms, including those of Catherine de' Medici and Diane de Poitiers.

Gallery bridge: A long ballroom-style gallery stretching over the river, offering scenic views through arched windows.

Kitchens: Located in the castle’s foundations, showcasing 16th-century culinary tools and layouts.

Formal gardens: Two elegant gardens—Diane’s and Catherine’s—featuring geometric flowerbeds, fountains, and walking paths.

    Wrapping up
