The tour guide took us to Buckingham Palace and handed out a flyer showing where the bus would depart from; other than that, no further announcements. Many people arrived well ahead of time for the bus, which left at 1:00 p.m. for Windsor Castle (it could have left an hour earlier). We arrived at Windsor Castle at 3:00 p.m., The guide hadn’t said a word the whole time; the only thing he mentioned was that we had to be back at the bus at 10 to 5—no explanation whatsoever about what there was to see. The time at Windsor Castle was far too short; the chapel closes at 4:00. I was lucky and managed to see it, but others were too late. the guide could have mentioned this. Also, you should change the itinerary so there’s much more time to see Windsor Castle and hire guides who are able and willing to explain things; otherwise, this tour was a waste of money. The Changing the Foot Guard Ceremony at Buckingham Palace currently takes place on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday (subject to availability). On other days, you will see the Changing the Horse Guard instead.

Transfer between Buckingham Palace and Evan Evans Tours is not provided (it is a 10-15 min walk).

Expect an airport-style security check at Buckingham Palace.

Windsor Castle is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle is closed to visitors on Sundays. The State Apartments may be closed too on some occasions.

Bags larger than 45cm x 20cm x 30cm are not permitted.
