I didn’t think a bunch of colorful tiles and lizard statues could rock my world, but here we are. Park Güell turned out to be the unexpected highlight of my Barcelona trip — and this is coming from someone who thought it would just be another “nice park with tourists and few good photos.” The large arena (apparently held up by giant stone Doritos, aka pillars) genuinely made me question physics. It’s like Gaudí said, “Let’s make something that looks impossible,” and then did it before breakfast. Every corner feels like you’ve stepped into a Dr. Seuss fever dream that somehow makes perfect architectural sense. Bonus points for the views — because if the park itself doesn’t make you gasp, the cityscape will. 10/10 would wander again, probably still muttering, “How did he even build this?”

Visiting Park Güell in Barcelona was truly a magical experience. Designed by the famous architect Antoni Gaudí, the park feels like stepping into a fairytale. The colorful mosaics, winding pathways, and unique architectural shapes create an atmosphere that is both artistic and peaceful. One of the highlights for me was the iconic terrace with the long serpentine bench covered in vibrant tiles – the view of Barcelona from there is simply breathtaking. I also enjoyed walking through the shaded stone columns and discovering hidden corners full of charm. The park is not just beautiful, but also inspiring, reflecting Gaudí’s creativity and connection with nature. It is a must-see attraction that combines art, architecture, and relaxation in one unforgettable place.

It was a sunny day and we got to the park at our scheduled time of 11:00 am. The instructions to the park were clear and we loved the person at the ticket booth. She was very helpful and friendly and the park is beautiful. Some paths could be clearer marked with directions to the different locations but we were very lucky it was not crowded and we found our way. No long lines to enter the 2 nice homes at the beginning of the park. Only disappointing part is the additional cost to enter Gaudi's home. The tickets for the park are expensive and should include this visit. The QR code for the map is nice but the map itself is confusing. It would be better to have a few markers with directions.

Nice experience in Barcelona october 2025 with family . Advantages of the app: ease of booking and presentation of qr code tickets. Small inconveniences with the language of the guide in presence at the Sagrada Familia: you could not choose the Italian language but only English. Fortunately we understand it quite well but it was quite tiring to follow the explanations despite the skill of the assigned guide. Also the audio guide of Parc Guell is, in my opinion, to be improved by inserting area recognizers via the gps of one's cell phone instead of having to autonomously search continuously for the area, which one does not know at all, often listening to different guides to the place where one actually is. We who entered through the topmost park door started listening about the pavilions, but they were located elsewhere. Before we understood how it works it took more than a little bit of time and moments of confusion. But in the end we made it and it was a good experience.

Of course, the works of Atoni Gaudi are always impressive and interesting due to the many small details. But as with all the places that you "have to see" as a tourist, there are of course many other tourists and, above all, tourist groups. But there are time slots for entry and therefore a limit to the number of people who can be there at the same time. What I actually find unpleasant is that there are of course different price categories, so that you can enter the buildings in Park Güell or not. In my opinion, the basic price would be sufficient for everything given the masses of tickets that are sold every day.

The unique artwork of a talented man was an awe inspiring experience. The history and facts added to the appreciation of the finished products. The negative was a gate worker who was perhaps having a bad day when asked where I was to go for my guided tour, which I found out later, was not booked through the park but a sub agent. The agent wasn't totally clarified and made my initial experience a negative one.
  • Getting Started

Arrive at the recommended entrance on Avinguda del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya, where escalator access is available. Present your ticket at the main gate for validation and proceed through a brief security check before entering the park.

  • What to bring

    • Wear comfortable walking shoes as this experience involves a fair amount of walking on uneven paths and multiple stairways.

    • During the summer months, it is recommended to bring hats/caps to protect from the sun, and water for hydration due to high temperatures.

    Accessibility

    • For visitors with mobility problems, Park Güell offers two free wheelchairs for hire (subject to availability).

    • The tourist coach car park has three places for people with reduced mobility.

    Additional information

    • During peak season, April to August, expect a considerable wait time at entry.

    • Note: Park Güell has three entrances—choose what suits you! Av. del Santuari de Sant Josep de la Muntanya has escalators (though it’s steep), Carretera del Carmel (nº 23) is ideal for coach drop-off, and Carrer d’Olot brings you right into the Monumental Zone.

    • If you'd like to skip a lot of climbing and stairs, a great option is to take public transport like Bus #24 or grab a taxi. This will get you to the entrance at Carretera del Carmel, which is just a short 100 meters from the bus stop. You'll find the area with the monuments only another 100 meters in, and mostly flat 200-meter stroll!

    • Children under 6 can enter for free, they just need free tickets. For a seamless entry, book their free tickets during checkout.

    • Guests are allowed to bring outside food and water into the venue. However, they must consume it in the designated picnic areas only.

    • The audio guide is available on the Headout app. Instructions to download will be shared with your ticket, and you can also access them offline. Do bring your own headphones.

    • Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

    • Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the redemption point.

    • Please arrive at the redemption point 15 minutes before the scheduled time of your visit to avoid any delays.

    Ticket redemption point

    • Please check your final voucher for the redemption point details and specific instructions.
