We really loved the overall experience! The only downside that can be mentioned is the early start. If you read the comments section before making any reservation online, then you are aware that the hour you choose and the actual hour of the meeting are two completely different things 😄. Regarding that, the guys from the tour are completely professional about it, they wrote me in two different places about the change of the meeting time to make sure we are aware. Following with the good example was our tour organiser Philip. He was extremely helpful and kept us informed about everything going on. The quality of the bus was really nice and the ride was pretty enjoyable. About the place itself - it's something you have to see with your own eyes.

Our experience was pefect, however, we did find out after we originally booked that Headout/TheAuschwitzTours aren't a single company that deal with the tranfers and tickets. Each time slot that you book is headed up by a different, our-sourced company. We were lucky enough to have been sourced to Welcome In Cracow. This company book your tickets, under your name as soon as they get the booking and pick you up at a reasonable time, also offer a decent luch at a good price. There are unfortuantely other companies that do not bother booking your slot and pick you up at insane times like 2am to get you there hours before it opens to wait in a queue to buy tickets, that aren't guaranteed. I highly recommend booking direct with Welcome In Crakow.

Well organised, communicated well, and the driver sent a pin so we could track him, arrived promptly, and gave good information. Comfortable minibus. The experience itself was sombre, the guide we had was knowledgeable, excellent, enthusiastic, and respectful. Be aware there are few facilities, just a coffee machine, and no time to visit the small shop and bookshop. Our biggest criticism was that the whole experience we first booked got cancelled the evening before - first notification was of a refund. We managed to rebook for the following day, but it was more than double the cost with a 6.30 am start. But Headout said it was not their doing but came directly from Auschwitz, and is very common, apparently.

The experience of visiting the Auschwitz and Birkenau camps was emotionally moving and difficult, and I believe everyone should visit these extermination camps to ensure that the Holocaust is never forgotten. Our long-scheduled tour had been confirmed only the afternoon before, and we were told to meet two hours earlier than the original time, so we were very worried about how things would turn out. In reality, the local tour operator, ROYAL TOUR, proved to be impeccable. The tour leader, Peter, and the driver, Alex, were on time, knowledgeable, and extremely well organized. They decided to leave Krakow earlier in order to arrive before the museum opened, which allowed everything to go smoothly and prevented us from having to queue. The local guide who accompanied us was exceptionally well prepared—clear, engaging, and able to convey even more profoundly the ordeal endured by the deportees. I would recommend this experience to everyone, but make sure that the local provider has booked the tickets in advance to avoid having the tour canceled.

The tour providers gave us a very memorable trip which we shall never forget as it stirred such meaningful and emotional feelings. From the outset the communication of details of the trip were very good. When the pick-up times were amended slightly these were accommodated to our requirements exactly as we needed which was very much appreciated. Our driver for the day was extremely polite and professional giving all information about the day ahead and clear instructions on where we needed to be at various times during the trip. Our guide for the day was very good taking us around giving us a huge amount of information at every point on the tour. It was emotionally draining understanding what had happened and actually being in the place where such atrocities were carried out. It will live with us forever and although it was extremely painful we are glad that we have experienced it. We cannot think of anything that could have made the experience better.

Everything is well thought out so that you get a ticket almost impossible for those of us who booked in advance with sold out tickets. The guide did his best to get the ticket and had the group under control despite having all different schedules, very good for him. Tough working conditions. What I didn't like is that when you buy the experience, they don't warn you that you are actually buying something not available and that English is not assured either and that to get it you have to go through a tough procedure with 4 hours of queuing in the open air with minus 2 degrees leaving at 2:30 in the morning. We did the tour in Polish and the whole excursion lasted 12 hours. Even with all this Auschwitz is worth it. If this was clear, they would have better reviews for sure. I give 4 stars for the guide, but not the company. Try to buy in advance with Civitatis in your language on tickets already available.

Auschwitz is absolutely a place to visit, calmly, respectfully and having time to reflect on the horror and commemorate the dead. The visit, aided by the tight schedule, was too rushed, with no time to observe and internalize what was being seen. This is due to the organization: I had asked to leave at 7:30 a.m., but due to a supposed "schedule flexibility" (which I do not recall ever agreeing to), my pick-up time was moved the day before... to 10:45 a.m.! To top it off, the same morning at 7:00 a.m. I was told that the time was 9:45 a.m., and the mistake had been the one who had communicated with me earlier. All for a very clear reservation made two months earlier. Unacceptable. The guide was extremely professional and attentive under the circumstances-he could do little more.

  • Auschwitz-Birkenau: Dive into history

Departing from Krakow, you'll travel in air-conditioned comfort, soaking in the poignant narrative woven by your licensed guide. Be prepared to step into a haunting epoch of history as you walk through the infamous 'Arbeit Macht Frei' gate into Auschwitz I and traverse the 22 brick barracks that once housed hundreds of thousands of Holocaust victims.

Unearthing the dark past and ticket options

Witness the grim realities of the Holocaust as you venture into Block 11, a harrowing prison within the prison, home to torture chambers and the site of the first extermination attempts using Zyklon B gas. The next stop is Auschwitz II-Birkenau, a camp that sprawls over an area 25 times larger than Auschwitz I and stands as a chilling testament to the scale of Nazi atrocities. Your journey culminates in a solemn moment at the Memorial, offering a space to pay respects to the victims of this grim period. Depending on your chosen option, engage with a guide fluent in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, or Polish.
