From Meteora: Monasteries Small-Group Morning Guided Tour with Audio Guide

What to bring

• Ticket or voucher: Bring your booking confirmation on your phone or as a printout to show your tour leader at pickup.

• Dress code: The Meteora monasteries follow a strict dress code; men must wear long pants and women need long skirts and shoulder coverage, with no sleeveless tops or shorts.

• Footwear: Opt for sturdy shoes with good grip, as paths can be uneven and include many steps.

• Snacks and water: Carry water and light snacks, especially during warmer months from June to August.

• Audio guide setup: Bring your own earphones and a fully charged phone to listen to the audio guides comfortably.

What’s not allowed

• Indoor photography: While outdoor photography is generally permitted, do not take photos inside churches or of monks or nuns unless explicitly allowed.

Accessibility

• Wheelchair access: Meteora is not wheelchair accessible, as all monasteries involve steps or inclined paths.

• Easier option: If you have mobility constraints, consider visiting monasteries like St. Stephen's, which has a paved path and minimal stairs.
