This tour was amazing! I booked the 3* hotel, which was nice and had a good breakfast. We're guided in the city by local guides, visiting the monasteries, the hermit caves, short stops to admire the view, watch the sunset (so beautiful!), learning fun facts. It was very rich. If I had done it without the guided tour, it'd be a loss. If they had a 3 days tour, it would stay be worthy! I could use an extra day for a hiking through the forest and to visit the Holy Trinity Monastery. Great deal. I strongly suggest.

The sunset excursion is a great experience! With a magical atmosphere! The guide on the second day, Maria, was very interesting and dedicated. The only downside is that the wait after the tour is much too long. We waited until 6:30 PM to leave, even though the tour ended at 1:30 PM. Especially since it takes another 4 hours of driving to get back to Athens. Perhaps trying not to group everyone together so much just to save money would solve this. Furthermore, there was a blatant lack of communication when they picked us up at 5:30 PM, only to make us wait for an hour just 10 minutes away from where we were, without any explanation, and then dropped us off at the hotel without any further communication.

Everything was perfect, the only thing was that on the second day, after the panoramic tour, we were free at around 1:00 PM. Waiting until 5:00 PM to be picked up to return to Athens feels very long.

Right from the start the tour was grand. The attendants and drivers were courteous and respectful to everyone and extremely knowable about the areas we visited. The acomodations were marvelous and above my expectations and the area it was located in was great. I was set up in the Hotel Anoniadis which was located directly across the street from a Natural History and Mushroom museum. and was within easy waling distance of the main streeet in Meteora and lined with great restaurants and tavernas and general shopping stores. How much better could that have been. The guides were very helpful to me personally and assisted me in walking and climbing when I needed it without hesitation. That was a great comfort to me. I would highly recommend your tours for sure.

Everything was well organized. They explain me everything ahead of time, and went so well.

What to bring

Smartphone and earphones: Required to use the multilingual audio guide inside the monasteries.

Comfortable clothing and footwear: Wear closed-toe shoes with good grip for uneven paths and stairs. Men must wear long trousers, while women should wear skirts below the knee and cover their shoulders to enter the monasteries.

Water and light snacks: Recommended, especially during the warmer months.

What's not allowed

Photography restrictions: Photography is not permitted inside chapels or of resident monks and nuns.

Drones: Flying drones is prohibited without prior authorization.

Accessibility

Not wheelchair accessible: Meteora's monasteries involve stairs and sloped paths. St. Stephen's Monastery offers the easiest access, with a paved pathway and fewer steps than the others.
