Athens Acropolis & Parthenon

• Backpacks and large bags must be left in the cloakroom.

• Wear comfortable shoes as there is plenty of walking involved.

• It is recommended to carry sunscreen and a water bottle, especially during the summer.

Acropolis Museum

• Facilities: Cloakroom, Guide-dogs Allowed, Wi-Fi.

• Photography is allowed. However, the use of flash and additional professional equipment such as portable lights and tripods, is not allowed inside the Museum.

Reduced Hours

• On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (December 24 and 31), the Museum is open from 9am to 3pm.

• On Orthodox Good Friday, the Museum is open from 12pm to 6pm. On Orthodox Holy Saturday, from 9am to 3pm.

Extended Opening Hours

• On the evenings of the August full moon and the European Night of Museums, the Museum is open until midnight.

Free Admission Days

• Mar 6 (Melina Mercouri Day), Mar 25 (National Holiday), May 18 (International Day of Museums), Oct 28 (National Holiday).

Note: On May 20, 2023, the Museum will be open from 9am to 5pm, and on May 21, 2023, the Museum will be open from 9am to 3pm, due to the National Elections of May 21, 2023
