Stansted Express Round-Trip Tickets: London Stansted Airport to/from London Liverpool Street Train Station

The train is very easy to find, fast, comfortable, punctual, and equipped with power outlets to charge phones and tablets. Ideal right after getting off the plane. I highly recommend it, even though the price is higher than the bus.

The train was very easy to find thanks to a lot of signs. When we arrived one was already at the station and ready to be boarded. It left on time and arrived on time after a very smooth and comfortable ride.

We arrived from France to visit London. Upon arriving at Stansted Airport, we had no trouble finding the train platform. We certainly didn't regret booking our tickets in advance. We rode all the way to the final stop, Liverpool Street Station, to take the tube to our hotel. The trip was completely safe. We were disappointed that on Sunday mornings the first train isn't until 4:00 AM, as we had to be at the airport by 3:45 AM to go through security screening for our 6:45 AM flight. We ate around Liverpool Street Station on Saturday evening and took the 9:00 PM train to spend the night at the airport. There weren't many people on the train, and we had a very pleasant, friendly chat with some Czech travelers. At the airport, many people were doing the same thing. I think the lack of trains between 11:20 PM and 4:00 AM on weekends is an issue, though energy and staffing costs probably make running trains unprofitable given the passenger numbers during that window. Next time, I'll take the train again, but depending on the departure time, I'll book a hotel room near the airport for the final night.

Taking the Stansted Express train is the best way to get to London from the airport. Trains depart about every 20 minutes, and the journey itself to the final stop, Liverpool Street Station, takes 45 minutes. The carriages are modern, comfortable, and air-conditioned. They have clear screens showing the current and next stations. There is free, fast Wi-Fi on the train. The departure board at Liverpool Street station is very clear. Trains to the airport are highlighted in red in the right corner of the display (see photo). The station is located right in the center of London, from where you can start exploring the city on foot.

Trains were on time and comfortable. The charging ports for cell phones were very useful. The turnstile staff was very polite. On the trip to the airport, the system wouldn't read the QR code, but we were immediately assisted to get through.

Good service, slightly delayed outbound from Liverpool Street, inbound into Liverpool Street was very good.. Had a issue with my ticket QR code coming back into Liverpool Street but the staff helped me out
