The rain station is within the airport, well signed and easy to find. The platforms have very good information screens showing where the train is going and the departure time. The train left on schedule. There are excellent luggage racks.

Impeccable service, very friendly conductors. I took an early morning train around 9 a.m. and was lucky enough to get a seat. The less fortunate ones arrived at the last minute before departure and were forced to stand with their large suitcases, strollers, and so on. Generally, when the train is packed with tourists, the trip is less comfortable, but I suppose it’s impossible to avoid the crowds during the tourist season. The Leonardo Express is really fantastic. Very easy to find when you get off the plane. If you miss your timeslot, no worries you can just take the next one. Every 15 minutes a train leaves to Rome. When you get in there are enough seats to sit comfortably during the trip. After about 32 minute you arrive in Rome at the big station Termini, in the middle of the city.

The trip there was a terrible experience: we were stranded for 6 hours due to a breakdown—the third time in a week. No replacement buses or taxis were arranged, and the shuttles had a wait time of about an hour and a half. Fiumicino was in chaos! Still, a rare occurrence… or so they say…...thank goodness I hadn’t bought my train ticket yet! On the way back, I’d bought my ticket online and had to wait 15 minutes for the next train because if I’d taken the earlier one, I would’ve had to pay 5 euros... at least it was cool enough!

Leonardo Express is reliable transportation from Roma Termini (rail station) to airport. Book in advance using app like trainpal (highly recommend). You can also change reservation time later e.g. if flight is delayed. Added benefit you immediately have ticket QR code valid for entry. Note the airport trains always come from platforms 23 and 24.

Excellent. Fast and convenient. First platform at the entrance, very well located. One real problem I encountered was that the online ticket didn’t work—there was no QR code—and many people, like me, were stuck. I almost missed the train. I had to ask a staff member for help to get through. This issue needs to be fixed.
