Barely made the train as the cuatoms process was terribly hard overcrowded and even the bus to customs was not sufficient. But we hopped on quickly and our online tickets prevented having to validate. Perhaps the cuatoms can learn how to get more digital and quicker like the train system!

First, there was the location of the platform (No. 29). There are 26 platforms at Termini, and No. 19 is located nearly 250 meters from the entrances. The second issue was the schedule. It was supposed to depart at 6:20 p.m. but finally left at 6:45 p.m. After waiting 25 minutes in front of the train car door to let passengers board—the doors opened at 6:15 p.m.—it departed 25 minutes late. The idea was to avoid Rome’s traffic, but we didn’t anticipate the train’s delay.

I had a problem when I changed my reservation. I did receive my ticket, but it didn't have a QR code, which isn't much use to me since I had to scan it to board. After a lot of back-and-forth messaging, I finally got the QR code 20 minutes before departure—by which time I was already at the station. In the end, everything worked out, but it was a real hassle. I wouldn't do that again.
