For our 4-day trip to Venice, we had two 7-day water bus passes, and they got us quickly and easily to all the places worth seeing. For us, it was the best way to explore everything and see as much as possible. The price for the two tickets was great, and for us, it was also the most affordable way to see a lot and enjoy our time in Venice. We’d do it this way again in a heartbeat.

Both practical and picturesque: The vaporetti, which we booked with a convenient 3-day pass, were indispensable for getting around Venice. The ride along the Grand Canal and through the smaller canals was an experience in itself for us. We saw palaces, bridges, and the bustling activity on the water. For us, it was a great service, even if it was sometimes crowded and a bit slow in the afternoons.

It’s easy to buy and use, but it’s not so easy to figure out that the voucher needs to be exchanged for a card at the station: we did it following the hotel’s instructions (after going back!). A sign with the instructions WRITTEN IN LARGE PRINT would be helpful. The 4-day pass is missing. Not all vaporetti display the line number and route. On the vaporetti, just like on the subway, trams, and buses, it would be helpful to have a sign showing the route being traveled.

Please note that this is not a direct entry ticket. You need to present your voucher (containing your PNR code) at an ACTV ticket office or machine to collect your physical ticket before travel.

While pre-booking tickets saves you from long queues, ticket collection may take 5–15 minutes depending on queues.

The pass is valid for 1, 2, 3, or 7 consecutive days from the first validation.

Tickets must be validated each time you board a Vaporetto or ACTV bus.
