We purchased the 3 day pass for 45 euros. One of our party members was under 29, so purchased the rolling Venice card with the 3 day vaporetto pass, which cost him 33 euros in total, and also meant him getting big savings on entry to many tourist sites. The passes were straightforward to collect from the ACTV machines at the airport, just type in the PNR code from your confirmation email and the pass is produced. It is then so handy to be able to hop on and off any vaporetto at any stop, including travelling to the islands of Murano, Burano, Lido etc. Although we did lots of walking during our time in Venice we also made lots of vaparetto trips, meaning the price of the pass was well worth it, and saved us lots of money in the long run.

Unfortunately, we only had two days in Venice and booked the 48-hour tickets. Each member of our group was given their own ticket (you have to print them out at the machine on site) so that we could move around independently of each other. The water buses allowed us to get to know this unique city in a way that we would never have been able to do on foot in the short time we were there. We are absolutely thrilled and recommend using the vaporettos to anyone who is not just interested in the tourist hotspots and wants to gather as many authentic impressions as possible.

I had a very pleasant experience with the vaporetto in Venice. It is the most practical and authentic way to get around the city, and the views from the Grand Canal are simply spectacular. I appreciated the punctuality, the frequency of the rides, and the fact that it is easy to understand even for tourists. It was also a special feeling to ride alongside the locals, feeling the real pulse of the city. I recommend anyone visiting Venice to try the vaporetto at least once – it is not just transportation, but part of the Venetian charm.

The unlimited pass is very practical. The only problem is that when you don't know the city, you leave the station (stazione FS) and you can't find a terminal to print the tickets. The first terminal we found was at the central station (the bus and streetcar station), so we had to pay for a bus journey even though we had the pass. We need better directions to find the kiosks.

I didnt quite understand how to use the number provided in my email so I ended up just paying again by card multie times until I finally found the number in the email. I wish a bar code or qr code in the actual email so I could have just scanned from the email like most other ticketed items we have pirchased in Italy. Hopefully we can get use out of it on our last day here.

It was an awesome opportunity to see so much if Venice in a short time. We were able to catch water bus at any location and spent the day going around Venice using the buses. The directions and terminals were easy to figure out and it helped us see more of Venice, than if we traveled another way. The price if the ticket was resonable and quickly paid for itself.

Everything! What a great way to travel and see this amazing city. Venice is just beautiful and being safely transported along the water was perfect. The vaporettos were frequent, clean, easy to board and on most occasions you could sit but I didn't want to. A much better view and experience standing up! Loved it!
