Seeing the statue of David in person was amazing. We really loved seeing Michelangelo's unfinished statues as it helped us gain an understanding of his process. A video on gilded wooden panels was really interesting too. A stunningly finely embroidered tapestry was another favourite too. Had issues with both the Headout app & email on the day. I was able to access the app and tickets the night before but at the meeting pint neither the app or 'show tickets' tab in the email would open. Very weird. I had no trouble with any other travel apps on my phone so it wasn't an Internet access issue. Also, I had booked for 9:30am session but the 2 tickets the host gave us were forv8:55-9am & 9-9:15am. Fortunately we stayed as long as we like in the gallery so all ended well.

The meeting location was easy to locate. As itches an actual storefront for a real business, I was concerned that I was at the wrong place. Nope,, they handle gathering the tourists and the tour guides. We quickly departed for the short walk to the musuem. My party included child which meant a stop along the way to get the "special" ticket for the kiddo. In thus case, special Hyatt means free, as children in Italy, get into museums free. We had to show an id with birthdate for the ticket. Eady. Tour guide then took us to the correct line at the museum and departed. This all worked so much better than I feared. Sering the David in person without having to spend hours waiting in line or getting turned away was a highlight of our teip.

You cannot go to Florence and not see David! The tour guide arranged our entry quickly, bringing us from the meeting point, a short walk from the Accademia, straight into the entrance. The quick entry was worth the price, this visit isn't cheap though!! There are some wonderful pieces here, so take your time to explore, rather than head straight for David. And when you turn into the gallery to see him, perfectly positioned in great natural light, it does take your breath away. Also, walking all around him to get the full effect, you will admire Michelangelo's attention to detail, something I never fully appreciated from photos previously. Thus can be a short visit, but definitely worth it!!

Already being there is memorable. It was raining inside, the best was dripping from the roof ,blocked the staircase formed a long queue for the elevator. It is the Uffizi, it must not drip inside and you have to find quicker solutions, to dry 2 drops. Amazing place as always otherwise. 6 time for me mao disappointed
