Join the standard group workshop at the working women's cooperative in the High Atlas. After a brief introduction to the space and the cooperative's artisans, you get set up at your workstation with all plants, pigments, and materials ready. The group format means you start alongside other participants and move through each step together.

What to expect

This half-day activity takes place entirely inside a working women's cooperative in the High Atlas. You learn directly from the cooperative's artisans as they guide you through every stage of creating and using natural colors.

Features

• Begin with a guided workshop with the cooperative, where artisans explain and demonstrate how to prepare natural pigments from plants before you try each step yourself.
• Work with plants, pigments, and all materials provided on site, so you can focus on experimenting with colors rather than sourcing supplies or bringing your own.
• Apply the colors you have made to paint on fabric and on canvas, creating at least one finished piece that you leave with at the end of the session.
• Spend a half-day inside the cooperative, with time to observe daily activity around you while you pause for water and mint tea that is included throughout.
• Receive a gift from the cooperative along with your own painted piece, and take home souvenir photos that capture moments from the workshop and your time with the artisans.
