Getting started

Arrive at the village in Chichaoua and check in for your Standard Shared Group Traditional Loom Weaving Workshop Session. You join a standard group workshop format, with no more than 6 guests taking part. After a short orientation, you move to the weaving area where the looms and wool are already prepared by the weavers of the women's cooperative.

What to expect

This experience takes place inside the village cooperative, where local women practice traditional loom weaving. You spend the session at the loom, learning each step, from preparing the wool to setting up the warp and creating your own woven piece.

Features

• During the hands-on village weaving session, you sit at a traditional loom with the weavers of the women's cooperative and see how the wool is prepared and the warp is set up right in front of you. This very small-group format, with no more than 6 guests, lets you observe the details of each movement and ask practical questions as you go.
• All wool and loom materials are provided for you, so you can focus entirely on the process. The weavers guide you through every stage, offering step-by-step guidance and helping you build confidence as your pattern starts to appear on the loom.
• Your woven piece to take home is the tangible result of the workshop, created through your own work on the loom. At the end of the session, you cut it from the warp and keep it as a record of what you learned in the cooperative.
• Traditional Moroccan tea is served during the workshop, giving you a short pause between weaving stages. Guidance and souvenir photos are also included, so you leave with practical skills, captured memories, and a clear sense of how traditional weaving fits into village life.
