    • Stay warm with heated indoor spaces, panoramic viewing decks, and complimentary overalls, with free WiFi available on board.

    • Did you know? Humpback whales in Faxaflói Bay often return to the same feeding grounds year after year. Some individuals have been identified in Icelandic waters for over two decades.

    Getting started

Meet your guide at Reykjavík’s Old Harbour, Ægisgarður 5c, for ticket validation and a short safety briefing. Board the vessel, collect your thermal overalls if needed, and get an introduction to the day’s itinerary from your marine biologist guide.

    What to expect

Set out from Reykjavík’s Old Harbour for a classic whale-watching experience, gliding into Faxaflói bay where winter light paints the water in soft blues. Your marine biologist guide breaks down each sighting as it happens adding context to the wildlife patterns that define this bay. After the tour, you’ll have a break to explore Reykjavík or settle in for dinner before returning to the harbour for the second part of your day, where we go hunting for the Northern Lights. With guides tracking conditions in real time, the crew positions the boat for the best possible chance to spot the auroras as they ripple across the northern sky.
