It was a really impressive experience to see how the bridge opens, through the glass walkaways. The waiting time to get inside the bridge was around 10 or 15 minutes - so it was fine- i expected more. The only thing was, that the engine romms were closed, this evening - so we had to come back the next day. But ist was worth it! The engine romms were really intetesting and there was a lot of information - also for the kids!

The staff at the entrance were very kind and welcoming, my grandsons and I had been seriouly delayed by a situation on the Underground and we were nearly an hour late for our booking at 11.10 am. We were welcomed in from the pouring ain, our bags checked and tickets accepted. We had a very enjoyable and interesting tour of Tower Bridge and it was a great way to spend a very wet and windy day.

Tower Bridge bears witness to a bygone era in London, but it has evolved to provide new sensations (thrills if you're afraid of heights) with its glass passages on the bridges linking the two towers. A visit to the machine room, with its animations and explanations, will help you understand how the ingenious bridge opening system works.
