We joined a small group and were guided directly into the Vatican Museums. After security and ticket scanning, the whole process took about 15 minutes, which was impressive considering the huge lines at 11:00 AM — we skipped them all. The museum itself is massive, more like a labyrinth of halls and galleries, with an incredible amount of people everywhere. The Sistine Chapel was almost overwhelming — we could only take a quick look, as the crowd was constantly being moved along by the staff. Personally, I don’t dive too deeply into art, so a brief look was enough for me, but for those who want to truly immerse themselves, the heavy flow of visitors can make it very difficult. We visited at the end of September, and overall the skip-the-line service was absolutely worth it.

The Vatican Museums were awesome, I loved it! But the experience was its Headout was awful. We arrived there early and they said to us to come with 15 minutes before the time of the tickets. When we got there at 11:10(we had the entry time at 11:30) they said to us that they don't have the tickets, because we only made an reservation, maybe "if we are lucky" the can make us a "favour" and get us tickets for 13:30. I was very upset and tried to talk with them and after 10 minutes they gave us tickets for 13:30. We booked ticket for 11:30. But all the people waiting there was in the same situation. I will not buy again from them anything. We got inside at 13:30 but after I argued with them.

We ended up getting a free bus tour and seeing the gardens, which were magnificent, and touring all of the museums and visiting the Sistine Chapel (it was a LOT of walking, but totally worth it!) We were a bit confused at first about the ticket redemption since it was a bit further from the entrance, but as soon as the guide arrived everything went smoothly and without any problems whatsoever🙌❤️ The surrounding area also had a number of great restaurants, one of which we stopped at to eat after our experience! The food was great and service was good.

The tour itself was great. Our guide was knowledgeable and willing to answer questions asked. The seller of the tour though was misleading- we booked the tour without a guide as we were on a time limit. First they called to push us back an hour, then another call with further hour delay and advised us that we had to have a guide at an additional cost of $30 euro per person. We felt this was misleading if this is the requirement then the tour without the guide should not be available to purchase.

The highlight was the Sistine Chapel but in order to get there with two elderly people you need patience and preferably wheelchairs. We were happy to have two helpful people (from the place we bought tickets) wait for us and guide us past the several hour long lines and through the security check and get us wheelchairs so we could enjoy the Vatican in our own pace. 👌

The pickup process was smooth and well-organized. The meeting point is at a restaurant, which made waiting pleasant—we were able to sit down and enjoy a fresh orange juice. The staff were easy to recognize with the company name on their t-shirts, and within 10 minutes we were inside. A huge thank you to the gentleman who went above and beyond by arranging a wheelchair for my mum. Without it, we simply couldn’t have managed the visit, and his help made all the difference. The museum itself is incredible, with the Sistine Chapel being nothing short of breathtaking. Getting there with a wheelchair does require some effort—you enter through the exit and wait for the tunnel to clear before moving against the flow—but it was absolutely worth it. All of the staff we encountered were kind, friendly, and very helpful.

The Vatican Museums offer free tickets for visitors with mobility impairments (with certified disability exceeding 74%). Additionally, in the case of visitors lacking in self-sufficiency, free entry is extended to their companions.

Certification of disability must be shown before the issue of the entrance tickets either at the Reception or at the Special Permits Desk, located in the entrance hall of the Vatican Museums.

Please be dressed appropriately. Sleeveless blouses, miniskirts, shorts, and hats are not permitted. Your head, knees, and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. Comfortable shoes are recommended. We recommend you carry a shawl or a scarf to cover your head.

Audio guides can be rented inside the Museums and are charged.

The tour assistants will help you enter the Vatican Museums and our services will end with the ticket delivery at the entrance (lobby) of the Museums.

There is a security check at the entrance of the Vatican Museum.

Adding external guides is not allowed.
