Went on the whale watching trip with my partner and honestly, it was UNREAL. The team gave us these chunky thermal suits (waddling around in those is a vibe). It was misty at first but cleared up and we saw a pair of humpbacks just chilling, flipping their tails. Crew was super chill, explained stuff without making it boring. Hot cocoa at the end was clutch, esp since my toes were practically icicles. Would do it again 100%.

Boat trip was pretty smooth. We brought our two kids (9 & 12) and they LOVED spotting dolphins – got suuuper loud when one leaped near the boat. Weather was cold and windy (glad for the suits), but guide kept spirits up. Didn’t see as many whales as we hoped, but still felt special. Cinnamon buns were more like cookies, lol. Not a dealbreaker but don’t expect bakery style.

SOOO cool to see whales out in the wild. Went solo, made some friends on the deck who were also traveling alone. The marine biologist on board answered my (way too many) questions and seemed genuinely into it. Got a bit seasick tbh (bring tablets!!). But seeing a minke whale up close was worth every bit. Hot chocolate was a nice touch.

Booked last minute with my cousin. Weather was pretty cold but clear skies. We saw a humpback breach twice (!!) and everyone cheered. The boat is super quiet, you can actually hear the whales breathe. The guides had loads of info, even showed us a dried baleen which was kinda gross but cool. Don’t skip the free hot choc at the end!

If you’re prone to seasickness, maybe skip breakfast… I spent a lot of time hanging over the side. My partner loved it though and raved about the dolphins. Staff were kind when I got queasy. Didn’t see many whales, but the water and mountains were STUNNING. Not sure if I’d pay again but glad I tried.
