Buying tickets ahead of time was very helpful. The grounds were beautiful! I felt like I could have spent so much more time exploring and enjoying the view. Definitely something everyone should visit if they visit Lisbon for the first time. A note, it was nicer to go at the end of the day when it wasn't as crowded. The crowds certainly made some of the narrow staircases more tricky.

Although there was a big crowd, there is also a lot of space. I especially enjoyed climbing up to the ramparts and the views. I did end up exiting when what I wanted to do was visit the museum and toilets. I appreciated the fact that I was able to re-enter at the entrance. Some signage could help at the exit.

What a great way to enter the Castle! The line to purchase tickets was so long. We walked past the line over to where you scan your tickets and were immediately in. So thankful I searched for online tickets. The Castle was beautiful. The views of the harbor breathtaking.

The walk between and on the castle walls was very pleasant. The view of the city from there was excellent. There is even a restaurant within the castle where you can have a bit of food and drinks.

A lot of climbing to get there, but it made up for it with the beautiful view of the city. With the tickets bought on this site, we didn't stand in line for a minute.
