What to expect
Doria Pamphilj Gallery
Housed within the historic Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, this gallery boasts one of Rome’s most prestigious private art collections. Maintained by aristocratic families for centuries, it provides a fascinating glimpse into the intersection of nobility, politics, and art.
Features:

Masterpieces on display: Admire artworks by Caravaggio, Raphael, Tintoretto, Titian, and Velázquez, among others.
-
Opulent interiors: The contrast between the palace’s unassuming facade and its lavishly adorned interiors adds to its charm.

The Pantheon
The Pantheon has stood for nearly two millennia as a testament to Roman engineering and design. Originally built as a temple for Roman gods, it was later consecrated as a Catholic church, blending its pagan origins with Christian heritage.
Features:
-
Iconic dome: The Pantheon boasts the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome, spanning 43 meters in diameter, symbolizing the heavens and earth.
-
Oculus: At the dome’s apex is a circular opening that floods the interior with natural light and serves as a ventilation system.
-
Grand portico: The entrance features 16 massive Corinthian columns supporting a triangular pediment inscribed with Marcus Agrippa’s dedication.
-
Rotunda interior: A vast circular chamber with harmonious proportions, adorned with marble floors and niches housing statues of gods and historical figures.
