Definitely worth it! If you go on foot, towards both places as I did, be prepared to have sore muscles the next day 😉 At the Moorish castle, it's a lot of clamping, a lot of stair climbing, but trust me, it's more than worth it! It is beautiful! At Quinta da Regaleira it is a lot of walking because it is big, also hilly, so definitely not just flat. The "well" where you would come out as reborn.... I expected a lot from it in the sense that you could walk down for a while quietly.... However, you "have to" keep walking, because if you stand still for too long to have a look or take good pictures, someone will call you to keep walking.... That's kind of a shame. However, it is beautiful there!

Buying tickets ahead of time was very helpful. The grounds were beautiful! I felt like I could have spent so much more time exploring and enjoying the view. Definitely something everyone should visit if they visit Lisbon for the first time. A note, it was nicer to go at the end of the day when it wasn't as crowded. The crowds certainly made some of the narrow staircases more tricky.

The views of Lisbon from São Jorge Castle were absolutely unmatched! I loved wandering the castle grounds, watching the beautiful peacocks roaming, and relaxing in the sun with a drink while overlooking the city. What a great way to enter the Castle! The line to purchase tickets was so long. We walked past the line over to where you scan your tickets and were immediately in. So thankful I searched for online tickets. The Castle was beautiful. The views of the harbor breathtaking.

The walk between and on the castle walls was very pleasant. The view of the city from there was excellent. There is even a restaurant within the castle where you can have a bit of food and drinks.
