The Naples Archeological Museum is a remarkable experience, a must for anyone interested in art and history.The exposition is superb with many memorable statues, mosiacs and frescoes almost 2 thousand year old and very beautiful. This is despite the Alexander mosaic being in renovation. The museum is well organized and so we did not feel uncomfortable in a crowd. What to me could be improved is the instruction in the booking confirmation- not everyone is computer/IT genius and the confirmation implied that one can get the tickets basing on ID ( this si not true, the app is obligatory ). Als the download of floorplan to computer did not work ( but the one in the museum did . However these small distractions do not alter the impression- the Naples Arcehological Museum is great !

An absolute must-see in Naples. The archaeological museum is exceptionally rich: mosaics, statues, frescoes and objects from Pompeii and Herculaneum are simply impressive. Each room is fascinating and offers a better understanding of life in antiquity. The museum is vast, well-organized and well worth spending several hours in. A fascinating place for history buffs and curious visitors alike. I highly recommend it!

I liked the variety of themed rooms on the history of different cultures. Many exceptional monuments. What I did not like was the little attention of a lady that there was no way to inform the printed guide or self-guide of the museum. She just told me to read a poster in Italian and English that I did not know because I did not know the language. Otherwise nice experience

Amazing second visit. The staff there are just so respectful and kind. They welcome you and really do help with anything. The museum itself is one of best in the world with many diffeent facets, and has just launched a new exhibition. Just go you will love it.

Skip the queue feature well worth while, saved us more than an hour. The museum is superb. Too much to see in one day. As usual at least one of the displays we wanted to see was under renovation! A necessary hazard if you are to protect such precious artefacts.

Definitely the convenience of avoiding the line and being able to use the ticket at any time of the day. However, I was unable to download the digital guide in Italian, surely due to my own inability. It was only available in English.

Magnificent statues referencing Roman, Egyptian, and Greek mythology. A beautiful museum with works discovered at the site of Pompeii. One small downside: the audio guide isn't great. It's better to hire a guide.

Naples Archaeological Museum

The museum is closed every Tuesday. If Tuesday is a public holiday, the museum will postpone the closing to Wednesday.

The newsroom shuts down half an hour before closing time.

The Secret Room is open every day from 9am to 2pm and entrance is allowed to small groups. The Coin section is open on Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 1pm.

Entry is free on the first Sunday of each month.
