Our trip was very nice. The audio guide we received on the way there was interesting, but also relatively sparse. GPS tracking for the guide is a nice idea, but it caused some tracks to skip. There was no way to listen to anything manually. Cape Sounion and the temple were beautiful. We had excellent weather and were able to watch the sunset before getting back on the bus. On the day of our trip, there were demonstrations in Athens, which is why the city center was closed off. It was a little difficult to get information about how the pick-up would work. Headout did not actively provide us with any information, so we had to search for it ourselves and contact the actual provider.

The guide Dido (hopefully I wrote it correctly) was great. The audio guide works on GPS - it starts an interesting story and then just switches to another and you cannot hear the ending. In general, the tour is great for lazy afternoon in the city, if you don't want to plan anything yourself. Everything is taken care of. And the view of the temple is great even without buying the entering tickets.

This was an excellent tour! Our guide, Stephanos did an amazing job at telling engaging stories about ancient Greek history. The only thing is that the buses do not leave from the location indicated. Luckily, I had seen other reviews mentioning this and called the office to find out the right pick up location. Other than that, truly worth the while!

Vassillis was a great tour guide, very funny. The coach was comfortable. We weren't lucky with the weather but the views were incredible regardless. Top tip, take some snacks as the restaurant is pricy and the only option for food once youre there.

Your tour will begin at the Halandri Metro station in Athens. You will meet your tour guide aboard the air-conditioned tour bus. You will reach the cape just in time to catch the enchanting sunset. Your guide will tell you several intriguing facts and myths about Cape Sounion. It’s interesting to note that Sounion is also mentioned in Homer’s legendary epic, The Odyssey.

The Temple of Poseidon was a popular destination for famous poets and writers from across the world. The English poet Lord Byron is said to have left his signature on the temple marble nearly two centuries ago. Once you are done exploring the temple, spend a few tranquil moments on the coast, watching the sun disappear below the horizon. On your way back, you can visit the Athens Riviera and walk along the promenade. Several of the charming waterfront cafes are certainly worth a visit.

The entrance fee to archeological sites is NOT included with the ticket price. It costs 10 EUR to enter the archaeological site of Sounion.
