The Topkapi visit is great, mainly thanks to what the place has to offer from history. 2 things to mention, First the tickets are to be picked up not at the palace itself but in a restaurant nearby. Second the guide is mainly bringing you to the location, he does not explain any of the history you would rely on the audio guide through your phone.

It was easy to find the meeting place beforehand and we were then escorted into the palace by a really friendly chap. The palace is beautiful, and very large, so make sure you have plenty of time to enjoy it and soak it all in. We recommend the audio guide as it brings it all to life.

A beautiful palace with many rooms to explore. The harem is very interesting, and the exterior is stunning. A must-see!! However, the audio guide was a bit lacking... We didn't learn much from the explanations. The price is therefore a bit high given the quality of the audio guide...

I really enjoyed the tour. Our guide (I think his name was Sedat) told us lots of interesting information about the palace. The hour flew by. Afterwards, you can explore much more of the palace with the audio guide. I recommend allowing at least another two hours for the visit.

Recommended. 👍 The advance ticket purchased was convenient. We only had to wait at the designated meeting point for 10minutes before been guided by the staff to Topkapi's main entrance for security check and ticket scanning. After that we had a great almost 3 hours exploring the museum. Love it! ♥️

I really enjoyed this tour, great guide Sela, she entertained us for over an hour capturing all our interest and attention. The palace is stunning, too bad the day was so cold, we couldn't visit it all, we were freezing.

The audio guide worked very poorly, and I lost access to the explanations halfway through the tour. In the end, I regret buying this skip-the-line ticket, which was more expensive than the price at the gate, because there was no line! And you could get the official palace audio guide for free when you bought your ticket at the gate! In the end, we ended up waiting in line with the guide, who just took us to the starting point of the tour! However, at the Basilica Cistern, I couldn't download the audio guide, but the employee at the entrance helped me and everything worked fine! Remember to bring your headphones. Again, the skip-the-line ticket was useless because there was no line at this time of year.

The audio guide wasn't user-friendly and didn't display properly. I was only able to hear the part about the harem in Topkapi Palace. I hadn't received the e-tickets for the Basilica Cistern, and we only got the tickets after bringing the issue to the attention of the ticket office.

Note that you will be able to enter the Topkapi Palace only with a representative. Meet your host at the meeting point, who will then take you inside the palace.

Be sure to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before your scheduled entry time.

Please note that there is limited internet at the museum/pier so download the audio guide app before your visit. The app does not require internet once it has been downloaded (ensure your GPS is activated).
