Depart via bus and make a 20-minute stop at Corinth Canal, an engineering marvel that links the Gulf of Corinth to the Aegean Sea. From there, you will be heading to Mycenae, a city that dates back to the second century BC and one that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spend 1.5 hours at Agamemnon’s kingdom to see the Cyclopean masonry, the Lion’s Gate and the Royal Tombs, including the Treasure of Atreus.
Make a pitstop at the seaport of Nauplia to see the imposing island of Bourtzi that once served as a home to executioners. From there, you continue on to Epidaurus, a place that is said to have been the sanctuary of Apollo’s son, Asklepios. Since he possessed healing powers, Epidaurus was an important sacred healing center during ancient times. You will also get to see the beautiful theatre of Epidaurus, that was built in the 4th century BC. It has excellent acoustics and is so well-preserved that it is still used to this day.
