Did this with friends and it ended up being the best evening of our trip. The boat wasn’t crowded at all, so we had the rail to ourselves the whole time. Watching the skyline turn orange while going right under the Golden Gate was unreal, and Alcatraz was much closer than I expected. Bring a jacket, it gets cold fast once the sun drops.

This was a great way to spend some time with my family in a unique setting. Why I would not call this an exciting adventure, it was really nice to head out of town in a relic of history and experience a beautiful section of forest. there is plenty of seating options, though I do recommend standing out on the open car as you travel through the woods. My six-year-old loved the gift shop… Of course… And now he has his own memorabilia. We found lots of blackberries on our stop.

Excellent guide providing information. Lots of whale and porpoise sightings. Captain apologized for keeping us out a bit long, but the whales were there so it was great.
