This 90-minute twilight rooftop tour takes you to the roof of Optus Stadium in a guided group of up to 10 people. You access areas of the stadium not open on any standard tour, hang suspended above the pitch, and watch Perth's skyline change as the sun sets.
Getting started
Head to THE OZONE at Optus Stadium at 333 Victoria Park Drive, Burswood (the main stadium precinct entry, facing Matagarup Bridge and the Swan River). Arrive at least 15 minutes before your 5pm departure. Your Tour Leader checks you in and assigns you a locker for personal belongings. You'll be fitted in a jumpsuit and secure harness before heading out.
Note: Large bags, luggage, prams, and umbrellas cannot be stored. Bring only what fits in the locker provided.
What to expect at Optus Stadium
Optus Stadium is Western Australia's largest stadium, opened in 2018 on Whadjuk Noongar Country on the banks of Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River). Its distinctive sail-shaped canopy roof is one of the most recognisable structures on Perth's skyline.
Features
-
Your Tour Leader takes you through back corridors and stairways that are not open to the public on any standard visit or stadium tour.
-
Walk the rooftop 42 metres above the playing surface and see the iconic sails of the stadium from directly alongside them.
-
Pause at the Western Viewing Deck as the sun sets. From here you'll see Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), the Matagarup Bridge, and Perth's full city skyline.
-
Step onto the platform and release the rail. Your harness takes your full weight as you hang 42 metres above the ground (the platform has no handrails).
-
Your Tour Leader delivers live commentary throughout on the stadium's design, architecture, and its development on Whadjuk Noongar Country.
-
An audio device is provided for the tour. Use it alongside the guide's live narration, or skip it — no refund is given either way.
-
No food or drink is permitted on the tour.
Wrapping up
After the tour, download all your digital images from the experience. Use your included 10% discount in THE OZONE merchandise store before you leave.
