The tour was nice, the bus comfortable, friendly and knowledgeable guide. Sadly the audio guide that was provided occasionally skipped forwards, backwards, repeating itself, which was slightly annoying, but the information provided was interesting. Personally i feel like the entrance fee to the temple is a bit of a scam though, there are many historical sights that offer much more to see for a less steep price. There are a restaurant and restrooms next to the site, but I'm not sure I would pay the entrance to the temple again.

Very nice guide, many interesting stories. There's a good restaurant with restrooms at the temple. Entry is 20€ which I thought was a bit overpriced. Especially since they close right after the sun has set and you're kinda hurried out and back to your bus. But I saw a lot nice places around Athens and the beautiful ocean :)

We went to visit Cape sounion & the Temple of Poseidon. Our guide Alice showed us where the bus was and during the bus drive she enthusiastically gave us clear information about the day. Everything was clear and organised! For the Temple you need to pay an entrance fee you can search it up online how much that will be for you. Overall a good experience.

An interesting experience. Everything went smoothly; we had an audio guide in our language and a tour guide who spoke English and occasionally provided additional information. You can stay at the archaeological site until sunset. It was the most affordable tour we found

It took one hour and a half to get to the destination in bus, so three hours roundtrip, to stay ~1 hour at the venue. It was sold as a sunset in the Egean Sea, whereas watching it from the most convenient spot (hence having to pay the 20 € more per person to visit the historic site) dealt us in the sunset occurring behind a hill, at least in the beginning of May. The place's beautiful, but the historic site reassembles some others already visited in the city and the sunset is not that breathtaking... So it pays off? Meh!

Well organized, the tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Watching the sunset over the mountains was one of my most memorable parts of the trip.
  • Your tour will begin at the Halandri Metro station in Athens. You will meet your tour guide aboard the air-conditioned tour bus. You will reach the cape just in time to catch the enchanting sunset. Your guide will tell you several intriguing facts and myths about Cape Sounion. It’s interesting to note that Sounion is also mentioned in Homer’s legendary epic, The Odyssey.

The Temple of Poseidon was a popular destination for famous poets and writers from across the world. The English poet Lord Byron is said to have left his signature on the temple marble nearly two centuries ago. Once you are done exploring the temple, spend a few tranquil moments on the coast, watching the sun disappear below the horizon. On your way back, you can visit the Athens Riviera and walk along the promenade. Several of the charming waterfront cafes are certainly worth a visit.

  • Additional information

    • The entrance fee to archeological sites is NOT included with the ticket price. It costs 10 EUR to enter the archaeological site of Sounion.

    • EU citizens under the age of 25 and non-EU citizens under 5, enjoy free entry!

    • Wear comfortable walking shoes. A hat might be a useful accessory as well, especially in summer.

    • Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.
    • Display the voucher on your mobile phone with a valid photo ID at the starting point.
    • Please check your final voucher for the starting point details & specific instructions.
