Mt Teide is an active volcano in one of the Canary Islands of Spain. It is the highest mountain in Spain and is also the 4th highest volcano in the world. It is located in the Teide National Park, a UNESCO designated World Heritage Site since 2007. Teide also holds the distinction of being the most visited national park in Europe and the most visited natural wonder in all of Spain. For nature lovers, this is a must-visit destination.

You can take a thoroughly enjoyable cable car ride from the base of the mountain all the way up to 3555 meters above sea level. During the ride, you can relish spectacular views of the island and surrounding sea. Once you have reached the destination, you can explore the area at your own pace. With the audio guide by our side, you will have a chance to learn a great deal about the islands and the volcano that you are exploring.

You can visit several viewpoints to get a full-fledged experience of Mt Teide. If you want to see the seven Canary islands and the Ucanca Valley, be sure to visit the La Rambleta viewpoint. Make sure to choose the trail to La Fortaleza if you want to catch some stunning sights of the northern part of Tenerife island. Once you have finished exploring the area, you can take the return cable car ride back to the base of the mountain.

Please note that the audio guide is available and can be downloaded on an Apple or Android device and listened to using headphones

Alternatively, you can collect an audio guide after paying a 50 Euro deposit, which can be redeemed once you return the device

Teide Cable Car is located within a protected national park. Make sure to follow basic rules out of respect for the natural environment: do not litter or take rocks, plants, or animals. It is prohibited to make fire, loud noises, or to camp

People with heart problems, pregnant women, and children under 5 are not allowed to ascend by cable car due to the risk that high altitude poses to their health. Consult your doctor before planning your visit or booking your Mount Teide Cable Car tickets

People with any physical disability or motor impairment are not permitted to make the ascent by cable car, because of the potential risks if the vehicle has to be evacuated

Bear in mind that in the event of the failure of the cable car system due to unexpected technical reasons, passengers already at the upper station will have to make their descent on foot and using steep mountain paths
