Perron entrance (Main entrance)
Located on the riverside plaza facing the Thames, near the Millennium Bridge. This is the primary entrance for most visitors and is fully wheelchair accessible, with wide automatic doors and step-free access directly into the Turbine Hall. The entrance is easy to spot from the river walkway and is closest to Blackfriars and St Paul’s stations.
South entrance (Blavatnik Building entrance)
Situated on Sumner Street, this entrance leads directly into the Blavatnik Building (Switch House). It is ideal for visitors arriving from Southwark or London Bridge stations. The entrance is fully accessible, with ramps and elevators available for step-free movement throughout the building.
- Regular hours: Open Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 6pm, with last entry at 5:15pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, Tate Modern is open until 9pm, with last entry at 8:30pm.
- Special closures: Closed December 24, 25, and 26 each year. Open on other holidays, including January 1.
- Exhibitions: Timed-entry tickets are required for major exhibitions, with last admission 45 minutes before closing. Some galleries may close early for maintenance or special events. Check tate.org.uk for real-time updates.
