Millbank Entrance (Main Entrance)
Located on Millbank, facing the River Thames, this grand entrance is the most prominent and is easily spotted by its impressive steps and neoclassical façade. Please note that this entrance is not step-free and involves a flight of stairs. It is ideal for most visitors arriving from the riverside or by bus. All visitors will pass through security and bag checks here.
Manton Entrance (Accessible Entrance)
Situated on Atterbury Street (east side of the building), the Manton Entrance provides level, step-free access for wheelchair users, families with strollers, and anyone needing mobility assistance. This entrance is clearly signposted from Millbank and is closest to Pimlico Tube station. Lifts and ramps are available inside for easy navigation throughout the galleries.
Regular Hours: Open daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Last Entry: Final admission is at 5:30pm.
Special Hours/Closures: Closed annually on December 24, 25, and 26. Opening hours may be extended for special events or exhibitions—check the official website for up-to-date details. Some galleries may close temporarily for exhibition changeovers or maintenance.
A cloakroom is available for coats and small bags, subject to capacity. Large luggage cannot be stored.
Audio guides may be available for select exhibitions; check at the information desk for current availability.
