Whenever I have friends visiting, The Steamboat Nacthez is a must. Sometimes we do the dinner, sometimes just the crusise. The sites and sounds are so much fun. I absolutely love the guy that does the narration. He's just like everyone's grandpa. The staff is always friendly, the food and drinks are really good and the house band is one of the best. I highly recommend taking a cruise with them

I enjoyed the view the most! The food hit better than anticipated I loved that it was buffet style and you can try a little bit of everything. The history stories that were being told.

The food offered was very delicious as was the mixed drinks. Unfortunately, the jazz band music was very loud so it was hard to have a conversation in the dining area. Also, it was very hard to understand or hear the captain narrating while we sailed. It would have been a nice ride for a much warmer night too! Our night was just 47 degrees with a wind chill under that!

What to Bring

Shirts and shoes are a must for all cruises. If you're joining the Dinner Jazz Cruise, opt for “dressy casual.” Skip the jeans and go for dress pants, a skirt, or a nice blouse. Guys, a collared shirt—button-down or polo—adds a polished touch.

This is a smoke-free cruise. Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the boat, inside or out.

Additional Information

Both the Steamboat NATCHEZ and Riverboat CITY of NEW ORLEANS will alternate departures depending on scheduling needs and private events until March 2026, when they’ll adopt individual timetables. Either way, you'll still enjoy two hours of live jazz, cocktails, and Crescent City charm—best experienced from the top deck of your steamboat.

Boarding starts 1 hour before departure, so get there on time for a relaxed check-in.

If you're 21 or older, you can grab your beverages at the counter. Bring along your photo ID with birthdate, as required by Louisiana law.
