What a great experience, booking here allowed us to skip the line and walk right in. my partner and I started At 9:30 when it wasn't super busy yet and took a beautiful walk along the south walls while we drank our coffees from the stand right past the entrance, we made our way to the gardens and into the castle walls to explore the towers overlooking every direction. The museum and archeological site were nice as well. We ended at the restaurant on the east wall for a drink before leaving. Great experience! The line was super long leaving so I'm glad I booked on Headout before hand!

I really loved the Castelo de São Jorge—a truly impressive castle with a great atmosphere and a fantastic view of all of Lisbon. Its hilltop location, in particular, makes a visit there a real highlight. I bought my ticket online, which went off without a hitch and saved me from having to wait in line—highly recommended, as there are often long lines.

Getting tickets ahead of time saved me approx 45 minutes of waiting. There was a long line I was able to skip and just walk right in with my tickets. The castle offers great views of the city. The audio portion was also helpful to learn about what you were looking at. I'd say try to download that before getting to the castle. 10/10. The walk up is steep. Be sure to take water and wear sneakers.

When we arrived, we made our reservation online, as there were many people waiting to buy tickets. This saved us a lot of time, which allowed us to spend more time exploring the castle instead of wasting time in line to buy tickets.

Don't miss it! We went in the morning and didn't have to wait in line. The site is exceptional and offers stunning views of the city and the Tagus River! The peacocks roaming the park add real charm to the gardens!

The guide was crudely made by artificial intelligence. It would have been more dignified if a real person had narrated it. I didn't like it at all. I preferred to do the research myself. Very sad.

Between March and October, access to wall walks and towers may be closed to the public from 6pm to 9pm for safety reasons. The exact time will vary depending on daylight.

Between November and February, access to the wall walks and towers will close by 5:30pm.

The castle is closed on Jan 1, May 1, Dec 24 and 25.
