My husband and I did the Private whip-ray feeding experience with the Sky. Sky and Addo were very informative, and they talked about safety before feeding the whip rays. Sky was very relaxed and reassuring, especially when the big Ray, Doris came up to feed. I appreciated Sky supporting me through this, as you was a little anxious. Richard and I would highly recommend anyone wanting to do the whip ray feeding experience, and this will be a cherished memory of our amazing holiday in Darwin

Experience a thrilling aquatic adventure at Crocosaurus Cove's new Whipray Encounter! Get up close and personal with friendly 2-meter-wide whiprays during our afternoon aquarium show. Under the expert guidance of experienced handlers, you'll have the unique opportunity to hand-feed these gentle giants. Learn fascinating facts about these inquisitive creatures as you interact with them in an intimate setting. With a maximum of 4 guests per encounter, this experience promises to be both personal and unforgettable.

Reptile rendezvous

Explore the largest display of Australian reptiles globally, featuring over 70 species in the Reptile House. Don't miss the Big Croc Feed Show, where you'll witness the incredible bite force of saltwater crocodiles and meet famous inhabitants like Burt, the star of Crocodile Dundee. Cool off in the swimming pool alongside juvenile crocs, or try your hand at Fishing for Crocs – a thrilling activity where you can feed young saltwater crocodiles. For a gentler experience, hold a baby croc and snap a memorable photo. Round out your visit with a stop at our 200,000-liter freshwater aquarium, home to various Top End fish species, including the famous Barramundi and the fascinating Archer Fish. With animal presentations, feeding shows, and the World of Crocs exhibit featuring 14 Crocodilian wax replicas, your day at Crocosaurus Cove promises to be action-packed and educational.

Bring along your spare clothes as there is a good chance you may get splashed during Whipray Encounter.

What's not allowed

Nobody likes a crowd. A single group has a maximum of 4 people and a minimum of 2 people for Whipray Encounter.

Safety is a priority so Whipray Encounter is restricted for guests under the age of 10 years.

Additional information

Whipray Encounter begins at 3:30 pm daily.

Children under the age of 16 years must have parental consent to participate in the encounter.

It is recommended to wear easily removable footwear and avoid wearing long trousers.

Wrist passes can be obtained at the ticket desk if you wish to come and go throughout the day.
