We were notified of the change in admission time via email and WhatsApp: +1:...we even spontaneously received a ticket for earlier admission at the meeting point....The wait time to enter the Basilica was only about 35 minutes. The rule that men must wear long pants or “knee-covering” clothing is a joke...regular Bermuda shorts are fine for men too...no one follows this rule, and no one was turned away either....my husband “followed the rule”.... ...at 37°C, it was almost unbearable ☹️....we’re just “too German”🤷🏼♂️GGiovanni G

We took the elevator to skip the first 200 steps leading up to the dome, and then we climbed more than 300 steps to reach the top and admire the view—it was well worth it. The stairs are very narrow and sometimes follow the dome’s slope, but they give you a real sense of the architecture of this masterpiece.
