Our visit was fabulous. There is one thing the park could improve upon. That is better signage. We frequently could not determine which way to go to get to our next destination, even with the map in hand. I prefer a paper map and a good size one at that. Even so, we back tracked a little bit. Other than those things the park was fabulous. We didn't get to see the cheetah run. They were out for breeding ( I think). We took the Safari Tram. That was nice. We ate at the really nice restuarant in Elephant Valley. The food and server were both great. Even our drinks were the best I've ever tasted. Being able to sit across from the Elephants and just enjoy watching them while lunching was fabulous.

My daughter loved everything it was her 2nd birthday and she was just taking it all in safari was amazing and all staff both in stands stores and guides were very helpful and insightful we still havent hit the zoo part yet and will go back once tht e heat dies down a bit 😅

I always wanted to buy a house I don't know where, now I will put just my and my family's bed right there in the the middle of the park.... we loved so very much ❤️

In general the sisplays are well done and you can find help easily throughout the park. The sky gondola wasn't working and cost of items inside is quite expensive

The zoo was a very good experience and I enjoyed spending the day there with my kids and my grandkids. I loved seeing the hippos in the water underneath through the glass , was amazing how large they are! And the polar bear swimming underneath in the water also amazing experience! The pandas and kualas were so cute too at the zoo! I loved being able to see the tiger up close through the window at the Makaw cafe/market at the Safari Park! So cool to see the cheetah out underneath the tree and the beautiful giraffes! The gorillas too were amazing to see! Only thing I was disappointed with was we headed out to the area take the tram ride around 3:00 and before we got there we're told by other visitors on the path that it was too late! Maybe if the park were to announce or let visitors know at the entrance to get the tram before 3:00, would have been helpful! But overall I enjoyed both parks. My family really enjoyed seeing the elephants play at the safari park I missed that cause grandma (me) had to head back halfway through cause of the heat. All the park employees were helpful and very nice! It was 94 degrees at 1:30 the afternoon we visited! 😊

Both of my boys wanted to spend the day at the park, they have neever been at the park. Both of the boys recoide half of thetime in Brazil and the other half of the time with me here in the States. We had an exceptional time at the park, emjoying our time seeing all the wildlife at the park. What an incredibe place and awesome expericances. I am sorry for not having available pictures of the boys and myself at the park. Thank you for asking me about the expericances at the park

I love the 2 park one ticket pass! I also love that the passes don't expire until a year from when bought so it was super helpful when it came to our busy trip schedule, and how huge the zoo and safari park is in general for us to be able to visit the other park another day. 10/10 recommend this package and these parks & I do recommend going early. The parks are HUGE. Going early will give you enough time to really enjoy them!

The way the zoo is laid out and the animal habitats are really special. It was particularly fascinating to see the apes play, grapple, chase and stalk each other in their habitat!

Getting started

Head to the San Diego Zoo Safari Park and present your ticket at the entrance for validation. What to expect

San Diego Zoo Safari Park

Discover wildlife across spacious habitats inspired by Africa, Asia, Australia, and other regions, with trails and viewing areas designed around the animals' environments. Spend your day moving between wildlife encounters, daily presentations, and the included Africa Tram, or add a separately ticketed safari for a more guided experience.

Features:

Africa Tram: Take an approximately 25-minute narrated ride around the savanna habitats, where you can look for giraffes, rhinos, and other wildlife from a safari-style vehicle. The ride is included with admission, requires no reservation, and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.

Expansive wildlife habitats: Walk through a large outdoor park where animals are housed in spacious environments that reflect their natural settings, giving you different ways to observe wildlife throughout the day.

Journey into the Wild: Attend a daily presentation at Benbough Amphitheater, where wildlife care specialists introduce animal ambassadors and explain their connection to global conservation efforts.

Wildlife viewing: Look for species such as cheetahs, giraffes, rhinos, gorillas, and other animals as you move through the Park's different habitats and trails. Wildlife sightings can vary, so specific animals are not guaranteed.

Walkabout Australia: Explore Australian wildlife areas where you can encounter animals such as kangaroos and platypuses while following the Park's walking trails.

Plan your day with the Park app: Use the GPS-enabled app to check the day's schedule, locate animals and dining options, import your ticket, and create a personalised day plan.

Accessible ways to explore: Most pedestrian paths accommodate mobility devices, while an accessibility shuttle connects key areas of the Park. Wheelchairs and scooters can also be rented near the entrance, subject to availability.
