The gondola ride, stunning views, amenities, and experiences at the different stops were definitely worth the price of the ticket! One recommendation: clearer signage. We asked 4 different town employees if we were on the right road and each gave us different instructions or did not know the answer. One person told us that it was a one minute walk from the train/shuttle station to the gondola.

We went early, queued before it opened & had the best views without the crowds - absolutely stunning! Wonderful seeing all the different peaks from up there along with climbers heading further up. I don't necessarily agree with the need to ski in August but some were being pulled up (& down!) by snow mobiles - spoilt the tranquility really. The ice caves were something else, wow! The sculptures were amazing! Worth every penny (even the 2chf to use the loo, which you get back if you buy anything even a coffee)

Bei Gewitter in einer Gondel, die dann stand, hatte ich auch noch nie. Aber das beeindruckende Panorama mit vielen 4000m Bergen und mehreren Gletschern ist sehr beeindruckend. Lohnt sich auf jeden Fall.

How easy it was to book! And the detailed information where to exchange the ticket for a physical one. The price as well for a similar tour from other sites was lower.

Awesome experience. The tickets where easy to obtain, the gondolas where clean and comfortable. Great views of the Matterhorn! Would definitely recommend!!

We booked a tour because we were afraid that it would be difficult to navigate on our own. The tour was cancelled, so we bought the cable car tickets online. How fortunate for us that the tour was cancelled! The cable car was so easy to use, and we saved a lot of money by booking ourselves. We were able to spend the day at our leisure, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I would highly recommend booking this on your trip to Zermatt.

Begin your journey in Zermatt by using your ticket to access the local bus facilities, if needed, to reach the cable car valley station. Scan your cable car ticket and board the first cabin toward Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. From here, you travel independently, choosing whether to ride directly or hop off at mid-stations along the way.

What to expect

Travel from Zermatt up to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise, Europe’s highest cable car station, on a round-trip ticket that you can use at your own pace.

Features

Ride the cable cars on a three-stage route, with the option to hop on and off at mid-stations such as Furi, Schwarzsee, and Trockener Steg on the way to and from the summit.

Use the bike transport option up to Trockener Steg, then access high-altitude trails by starting your ride from this mid-mountain station.

Visit the InfoCube at Trockener Steg to learn more about the cableway and the high-Alpine environment before continuing your ascent.

At the summit station, access the panoramic viewing platform, Glacier Palace, and Cinema Lounge, all included with your ticket.

Make use of included local bus facilities within Zermatt to connect between the village and the cable car base station.

If you hold an eligible Swiss travel pass or Half Fare Card, select the discounted ticket option to benefit from half-price access on this route.

Choose the small group cable car ticket option if you prefer traveling with a maximum of 8 guests in your cabin, subject to the variant selected.

For some options, use the included ticket for the Zermatt shuttle service to reach the village more easily before starting your ascent.

Wrapping up
