Getting started

Begin your journey by arriving at the designated meeting point in either Kyoto or Osaka, where your English-speaking guide will welcome you and help you board the comfortable sightseeing bus. After a brief introduction, the tour sets off toward Katsuo-ji Temple.

What to expect

• Your first stop is Katsuo-ji Temple, the “Temple of Victory,” a historic mountain temple known for its Daruma wish ritual, where you learn the tradition of painting one eye when making a wish and the second upon fulfillment.

• Continue to Arashiyama, where you walk through the famous bamboo forest,cross Togetsukyo Bridge over the Katsura River, and explore nearby cultural sites including Kimono Forest, Nonomiya Shrine, and the landscaped gardens around Tenryu-ji Temple.

• The journey then leads to Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), a UNESCO World Heritage site where the top two floors are covered in gold leaf and reflected perfectly in Mirror Pond, surrounded by a carefully designed Zen garden that changes with the seasons.
