What to expect

Freud's neighborhood in Vienna

Follow a route through the neighborhood where Sigmund Freud lived and worked for nearly half a century, using your phone as your guide instead of a physical guide. The experience unfolds entirely in the open air as you walk between stops, solving tasks that reveal how Vienna shaped his ideas and career.

Features

• Freud's neighborhood route, puzzles, and clues guide you from point to point, asking you to search for details around you to unlock the next chapter of the story. Each puzzle you solve reveals historical facts about Freud's most fascinating patients, his ambitions, and the medical debates of his time.
• Along the way, you visit the grand institutions that shaped Freud's career and thinking and uncover the surprising connections between Freud and Vienna's café society, as well as how anti-Semitism, ambition, and a painting changed the course of medical history. The narrative is tied to the streets and buildings you see, so what you read in the app connects directly to your surroundings.
• Access to the city exploration game app is included, giving you a fully self-guided, open-air, crowd-free experience that runs on your own smartphone. Full availability 24/7, every day means you can explore early in the morning, late at night, or in quieter hours to suit your schedule.
• Flexible start, pause, and resume anytime lets you take breaks for a café stop or rest, then continue from where you left off without losing progress. During the game, 24/7 customer support is available if you run into technical issues or have questions about using the app.

Wrapping up

Once you solve the final puzzle and complete the last clue in Freud's neighborhood, the game ends and you are free to continue exploring Vienna independently or retrace parts of the route at your own pace.
