First of all, the punctuality and not having to wait in line for tickets. We were also lucky because there were supposed to be four of us (two couples), but the others didn’t show up, so it turned into a private tour for us. The guide was very helpful and knowledgeable; we’re from Parma, so we already knew a lot about the Farnese family, but she helped us delve into new details on the subject. The palace is immense, and the tour took over two hours, but the guide never rushed us. Thank you for everything. Afterward, we explored the park and the temporary exhibition on the Queens on our own. It was truly a beautiful and interesting day. Highly recommended.

A well-organized tour. After booking online, there’s nothing else to worry about... The guide, who is always punctual, takes care of everything (from tickets to earbuds, to arranging assistance for people with mobility issues). The detailed explanations cover both historical and artistic aspects, with some enjoyable digressions on the inner workings of the palace... —things you could never grasp on your own in such a vast and rich setting! The Royal Palace of Caserta is wonderful! Walter, our knowledgeable and friendly guide, showed us around the palace: the Royal Staircase, the chapel, and the theater. We were allowed to see these areas "in exchange" for a visit to the gardens, which (unfortunately) were closed due to bad weather and strong winds—trees had even fallen over. Too bad, but it’s definitely worth another visit!!! Thanks, Walter

We visited the palace with the guide as agreed, but before entering, we were denied entry as a group because some tickets had been printed twice and were marked as already used, and other tickets were single-entry tickets intended for two or more people, which wasn’t acceptable. The issue was eventually resolved; everyone was allowed in, and the group waited outside the entrance. The guide was very good; it was just the ticket mix-up that caused us to wait a bit.

What's not allowed

Leave pets (except guide dogs), strollers, large bags, backpacks over 40 x 30 x 10 cm, umbrellas, drones, sharp metallic objects, alcohol, and motorized vehicles behind—they aren’t allowed inside. You can check bulky items in the free cloakroom at the entrance.

Eating and smoking are prohibited inside the palace.

Flash photography is forbidden inside, and the dress code requires appropriate attire (no skimpy or indecent clothing).

The Royal Palace of Caserta is closed on Tuesdays, New Year’s Day (January 1), and Christmas Day (December 25).

If you're traveling from Naples, check train schedules in advance for a timely trip, as the train from Naples to Caserta takes about 40 minutes, followed by a 5-10 minute walk to the palace.
