Every team member we met today was absolutely fantastic, we had an amazing day! The volunteer guide team was great, super knowledgeable and really friendly. Along with the staff who drove the bus and train for the grand island tour! They made the trip fun, and a joy to experience! Rottnest Island is a must see when visiting Perth and it is truly a beautiful place to visit, my wife and I highly recommend the grand island tour.

Both the ferry service and the Grand tour were amazing. Island is bigger than I imagined. Saw lots of Quokkas! Both guides were great. Not crowded, easy to get around (with pram). Good facilities. Yummy boxed lunch. I am from Vic, was visiting family in WA. Would go again. Good value. Highly recommended.

Ted, our guide was great. Very informative, friendly and easy to talk to. We were with a lady who has limited mobility and she was looked after extremely well. She was made to feel very comfortable and enjoyed the tour immensely.

  • Set off from Fremantle on a ferry and enjoy a full day on Rottnest Island with a guided bus tour, spotting quokkas, pristine beaches, and historic landmarks.

    Getting started

Your ticket includes round-trip ferry transfers from Fremantle and entry to Rottnest Island. Check in 30 minutes before departure at B Shed Terminal. Once on the island, join a 1-hour 45-minute air-conditioned bus tour with live commentary, then enjoy time to explore at your own pace.

    What to expect

    • Spot the quokkas: Stop at Thomson Bay or Cape Vlamingh to capture Rottnest's friendly quokkas, most active in the late afternoon.

    • The Basin: View this iconic natural swimming spot from the bus; optional quick stops allow photos or a refreshing dip.

    • Wadjemup Lighthouse: Approach the lighthouse on the bus, with an optional climb for sweeping island and ocean vistas.

    • Henrietta Rocks & salt lakes: Pass tranquil Henrietta Rocks and the northern salt lakes, spotting local wildlife and enjoying scenic vistas.

    • Island beaches & coastline: Drive along secluded beaches, bays, and cliffs with opportunities for photos and brief exploration.

    • Live commentary: Expert guide provides insights into Rottnest’s history, wildlife, flora, and hidden gems throughout the bus tour.

    • Captain Hussey Train & Oliver Hill Lunch: If selected, ride the historic train to Oliver Hill and enjoy a light lunch with sandwich, cookie, and water.

    • Oliver Hill Battery & Tunnels: If selected, go on a guided tour of WWII gun fortifications and tunnels; learn the island’s military history.

  • What to bring

    • Bring along your sunglasses, sunscreen, hat, and water bottle.

    What's not allowed

    • Alcohol, weapons, drugs, drones, pets, smoking and furniture are not allowed onboard the ferry.

    Additional information

    • Practical tip: For the best selfies, look for quokkas in shaded areas near Thomson Bay in the late afternoon.

    • Guests are required to pay an admission fee for Rottnest Island, which is included in your ferry fare at the time of booking. This helps support island conservation and facilities.

    • Your voucher will be emailed to you shortly.

    • Please check your final voucher for the starting point details & specific instructions.
