The Chapel is separate with a slightly different entrance but is splendid containing a number if key memorials to Portugese Hitoric People like Vasco de Gama.

It provided detailed narratives on each section, synced perfectly with my pace. Highlights included: The Cloisters: A two-story masterpiece with vaulted ceilings and ornate columns. I spent over 30 minutes wandering the peaceful quadrangle, admiring the symbolic motifs like armillary spheres and crosses. The Church of Santa Maria: Breathtaking! The high nave with ribbed vaults and towering pillars made me feel small in the best way. I lingered at the tombs of Vasco da Gama and Luís de Camões, Portugal's national poet. The stained-glass windows cast colorful patterns on the floor, creating a serene atmosphere perfect for reflection. Refectory and Chapter House: These lesser-visited areas showcased beautiful azulejo tiles depicting biblical scenes. The audio guide highlighted how the monastery survived the 1755 earthquake, adding a layer of resilience to its story. The entire visit took about 2 hours, but I could have stayed longer.
