    Getting started

    Arrive at NEON, Battersea Power Station, and present your ticket near the main entrance for validation. After a brief security check, you’ll enter the exhibition space and can begin exploring at your own pace.

    This major international exhibition brings over 180 priceless artefacts from Egypt’s golden age to London, many on display for the first time in the UK. Explore the reign, legacy, and vision of Ramses II through original objects, immersive environments, and dynamic storytelling.

    • Coffin of Ramses II: See the intricately decorated coffin of Egypt’s longest-reigning pharaoh, presented as Osiris, complete with royal sceptres and the iconic nemes headdress.

    • Limestone colossus: Marvel at a monumental statue of Ramses II, shown holding a mekes and wearing the traditional striped headdress reserved for kings.

    • Mask of King Amenemope: Examine a gold funerary mask adorned with lapis lazuli and carnelian, showcasing the craftsmanship of ancient royal workshops.

    • Funerary mask of General Wendjebauendjed: View a gold mask with glass-inlaid eyes, designed to preserve the general’s idealised portrait for eternity.

    • Battle of Kadesh animation: Experience a virtual depiction of one of ancient history’s largest battles, highlighting Ramses II’s military prowess and diplomacy.

    What’s not allowed

    • Large bags, suitcases, and oversized luggage are not allowed inside the exhibition; these can be left with Box Office staff at your own risk.

    • Pushchairs are not permitted within the exhibition but can be held at the venue.

    • Due to venue restrictions, your pets cannot tag along.

    • Outside food and beverages are not allowed.

    • This experience is wheelchair accessible.

    • Full transcripts, large-print guides, and hearing aid streaming devices are available.

    Additional information

    • Arrive 5–10 minutes before your scheduled session for ticket scanning.

    • The Virtual Reality (VR) experience and audio guides are not included and must be purchased separately.

    • The exhibition is recommended for visitors aged 5 and older; the VR experience is recommended for ages 8+.

    • The experience is fully indoors, but you may need to wait outside briefly before entry.

    • Facilities: restrooms, Changing Places facility, cafe, retail store, benches
