My review of the tour of the Giza Plateau and the tour inside the Pyramid of Khufu: it was simply exceptional. The Egyptians are polite—they make suggestions but aren’t pushy. The refreshment stands have clearly posted prices that are reasonable: a 100-pound bottle ofwater costs 100 pounds, or €1.70. If you’re going to Cairo, hire a private driver for €29 for 6 hours—it’s well worth it.

We were offered a tour by a somewhat suspicious Egyptian tour operator because we were lost, and they took care of everything—a horse-drawn carriage and an Egyptian guide who spoke English. He was the one who showed our HeadOut tickets, and we got through quickly.

It was a wonderful experience, especially since we also took an extra camel ride once we got there (not included in the admission price), but I’d still recommend it to everyone...It’s best to buy tickets the way my colleagues and I did, and Headout is the best—very fast, intuitive website, and the e-tickets arrived right away!!! Not having to wait in the queue and go straight in. Grand Museum is massive and even with a lot of people there is still space to move around.

Pyramid exteriors: Walk around the Great Pyramid of Khufu, Pyramid of Khafre, and Pyramid of Menkaure, taking in their scale and stonework from multiple viewpoints.

The Great Sphinx of Giza: Stand before the iconic guardian of Giza and explore the surrounding pathways for panoramic views of the Sphinx and the pyramids.

The Valley Temple: Roam freely around the Valley Temple of Khafre, ancient causeways, and smaller tombs scattered across the Giza necropolis.

Photography: Snap photographs of classic Egyptian scenery with the Great Pyramids, camels, and the iconic Great Sphinx against the desert background.

Accessibility

The Giza Complex has limited wheelchair access. Some viewpoints near the Sphinx are partially accessible, but the surrounding terrain is sandy and uneven. Pyramid interiors are not wheelchair-accessible.
