I had been waiting for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in its new location for a long time. I rate my visit very highly. The museum is impressive. The huge building and the exhibition in the staircase hall make a great impression. I visited all 12 sections. Of course, the treasures from Tutankhamun's tomb made the biggest impression and aroused the most emotions. Very good descriptions of the exhibits, plenty of space – you can see everything thoroughly and take photos. A big plus for the easily accessible bathrooms and rest areas. Another plus for the brochures with the exhibition plan. I missed a publication – a catalog with the most important exhibits. I would like to have such an album, I would even pay $100 for it.

We chose to embark on this adventure without a guide, and I honestly recommend doing so. It's true that a guide is helpful and, above all, provides detailed descriptions of the Giza complex, but I don't think one is necessary. Enjoying the view of the Pyramids, their interiors, and the Sphinx in their landscape context is an experience to be had with or without a guide. The route inside the museum is clear, and the descriptions of each individual piece on display are accurate and concise. We loved every single second spent among these wonders ❤️

I used the Headout app to buy tickets for the Grand Museum, and I have to say, it made everything so smooth and enjoyable! I was able to purchase our tickets on the same day without any trouble, and when we arrived at the museum, everything went perfectly. There wasn't much of a queue, so we could go in immediately and start our adventure. It was a simple, stress-free experience that really made the day even better. And don't forget to explore the fantastic shopping and cozy cafés outside the museum!

Visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum felt like stepping into a time machine with excellent air-conditioning. The scale is jaw-dropping, the design is sleek and modern, and the artifacts, especially the royal statues and galleries are displayed with the kind of care they deserve. It manages the rare feat of feeling both ancient and futuristic at the same time. Easily one of the most impressive museums I’ve ever visited, and a must-see if you’re anywhere near Cairo.

We arrived at the pyramids early in the morning, which is highly recommended. By late morning, everything is completely overcrowded. You also have to be quick when visiting the interior of the Great Pyramid. We were lucky enough to be completely alone inside, but when we came out, there was already a huge line. Since the entrance and exit inside are very narrow, it is advisable to go inside the pyramid early in the morning.

Spent 3 1/2 hours wandering galleries. Less time in outside q's the better. Several things stood out: the inside lighting too muted, especially 4 photography; Tut's mask is smaller than they make it look on TV. Some materials are partially reconstructed, and i saw a polished steel blade they didn't quite smell bronze age to me, although I know Tut had a meteorite derived blade, but I think that's in the old Museum. Could be wrong about that tho.

When I bought the Skip-the-Line tickets they were stated to be "flexible on timings" but on e-mail contact with Headout I was told that the entrance was a fixed time entrance but that the exit time was flexible. On the day arranged we entered at the fixed time and were thoroughly enjoying our GEM visit but after 3 hours were contacted by our driver to say our visit time had ended, whereas with a flexible exit time we had expected to contact him when we were ready to leave not the other way around. We would have preferred more honest clarity i.e. a fixed entry time and a fixed exit time to know where we stood time-wise. We had been almost ready to leave anyway and it definitely did not spoil our visit to this great museum but it cannot be called "flexible" when it clearly is not.

We had a very good guide, Mai, fantastic storyteller in perfect English, in-depth knowledge and expertise about ancient Egypt, very friendly and kind, showing us after the museum, shops to experience spices, oils, smells, jewellery. She and taxi driver did everything to give us a full lively and enjoyable day! Thanks so much: it was great!

I went straight from the parking lot to the entrance checkpoint, scanned my QR code, and headed into the museum. It couldn’t be simpler, and paying this way is easier than going through the museum’s website. The museum was incredible. I was already familiar with the old museum on Tahrir Square, but the new museum is worthy of being called a wonder of the world.
